A Day Trip to Xitang

Compared to Wuzhen, I prefer the vibrant life of Xitang, with its many bridges, alleys, and covered corridors. The corridors are built along the river, and the residential houses are topped with blue tiles. The stone bridges are low and solid, while the arch bridges undulate. The tirelessly rowing boats shuttle through the water alleys. The simply furnished shops also seem quiet and serene. Sitting under the corridor, overlooking the wooden boats passing through the bridges, or sipping a pot of tea at a teahouse on the shore, quietly watching the crowd on the opposite bank shuttle along the West Street and taste delicious food. Huanxiu Bridge: A semi-circular arch bridge, ideal for photographing ancient residences through the bridge hole, and capturing the rowing boats from the bridge. Yongning Bridge: Offers a panoramic view of both sides of the river, where you can see the quaint Misty Rain Corridor and the scenery of tourist boats, and it's also the scene of Jay Chou's 'Tianya Guoke' music video. Shipi Alley: The most characteristic open-air alley in Xitang, with a narrow sky above, known as Xitang's 'One Line Sky'. Songzilaifeng Bridge: A classic check-in bridge in Xitang, couples who cross it will have their wishes come true, and the large white wall between the bridges is filled with tourists' love stories and heartfelt wishes. West Street: The busiest shopping street in Xitang, with many restaurants and specialty stores on both sides. |Xiyuan: The largest private garden in Xitang, with a typical Jiangnan garden style. Food Recommendations: Bamboo shoot siu mai, Malantou, 'The Number One Noodles in the World', Guan Lao Tai stinky tofu, Bazhen cake. Tips: It is recommended to take the high-speed train to Jiashan South, then transfer to bus K222, or transfer at Hangzhou East Station to Jiashan South. For flights, arrive at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport and take the shuttle bus. 2 The scenic area can be entered for free before 8 am and after 5 pm. There are cherry blossoms in Xitang in spring, but they are almost withering now.
