Quest Journey

Hurva Synagogue

The Hurva Synagogue, located in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, is one of the most significant synagogues in Israel. Originally built in the 18th century, the synagogue has a rich history marked by destruction and reconstruction. The Hurva Synagogue has been destroyed twice in its history, first in the 18th century shortly after its construction and then again during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The current building is a faithful reconstruction based on the original design, completed in 2010. Today, the Hurva Synagogue serves as a prominent place of worship, cultural significance, and historical remembrance within the Jewish community in Jerusalem. Its architecture and history attract visitors and scholars interested in Jewish heritage and religious traditions.#falltrip
