Day 1 on Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)

Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) is renowned for its magnificent natural scenery - think massive granitic boulders, ancient pine trees (of which the most popular one is Greeting Pine 迎客松), oddly-shaped rocks named after their appearance & numerous imposing peaks, the highest of all standing at 1864 metres above sea level ⛰️ Bearing all these in mind, I was determined to do a more thorough exploration so we spent a night in one of the comfy hotels on the top of Huangshan. After taking a cable car up the front face upon our first encounter with the mountain, we spent 6 hours climbing steep stone steps in glorious weather, and eventually managed to witness a lovely sunset from Ao-yu Peak (鳌鱼峰) 😍
