Shanwei Haifeng Jiming Temple

Haifeng Jiming Temple is located in the Lianhua Mountain Forest Management Area in the north of Haifeng County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, 13 km from Haifeng County. It is located on Jixin Mountain, surrounded by Lianhua Mountain and Yinping Mountain. It was built in the 6th year of the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty (1633) with funds raised by the eminent monk Yinzhen from local gentry and merchants. The original site was 5 li (2.5 km) away from the temple, at the foot of Lianhua Mountain. Walking up the steps from the mountain gate, you will see pine and cedar trees on both sides of the path, lush and green, with a cool breeze blowing. There are natural landscapes such as "Rulai Panshi," "Mihou Qishi," "Xiniu Wangyue," "Yulong Penxu," and "Sanjing Huiyin" around the temple. There are also cultural relics and historic sites such as the tomb tower of the founding master Yinzhen, the natural stone Maitreya Buddha statue from the late Ming Dynasty, and ancient silver coins from the East. There are also rare tree species protected by the state, such as the 500-year-old long-leaf bamboo cypress, the 6.55-meter-tall ancient fairy tea tree, agarwood, and morinda.
