Dongshankou is an absolutely wonderful place to visit. Located in Yuexiu district, Guangzhou, it’s easily accessible by subway or bus. It’s sure to offer a day full of fun! What to do: Dongshankou is a great place to take a leisurely walk with your friends, visit one of the many unique and exciting coffee shops, explore the fun and creative boutiques and to take pictures of the picturesque buildings. Dongshankou is a beautiful meeting of Eastern and Western architecture and I always jump at the opportunity to visit the area. History of Dongshankou: The name Dongshankou can be traced back to the Ming dynasty. As modern industry grew in the late Qing dynasty, Dongshankou became a popular residential area and developed rapidly. Following World War I, the overseas Chinese community returned to Guangzhou and became the main force of development, building large houses with a more Western aesthetic design. Overall, this place is a must visit for those who love to take pictures. It seems like around every corner there is a new picture opportunity.
