Western Sichuan Self-driving | Discovering the hidden gem of a homestay in Zhonglu, with free Tibetan costume photography!

The owners of the homestay are a very down-to-earth and friendly family. The person in charge is a young lady who asked us if we had eaten as soon as we entered and enthusiastically introduced us to the room. In just two days, we could feel the kindness and thoughtful service of the host family from many aspects! 🏠Rooms The rooms are spacious, with tatami beds and a space for tea drinking, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of distant mountains. Surprisingly, the room also comes with a private small balcony, which is very comfortable to sit on and enjoy the sun. Facilities include an electric toilet, a bathroom heater, as well as an electric blanket and a kettle that shows the temperature, showing that the host is doing their best to take care of the details! 📸Photography If you want to take a bird's-eye view of the Zhonglu Tibetan village, this place is perfect! No wonder the host wrote 'The Eye of Zhonglu' at the highest point of the house. I visited the highest viewpoint in Zhonglu a few years ago (you can check my previous notes for details), and the view is not much different from this homestay. Compared to climbing to the top, this homestay is more accessible, within reach, and offers better value for money. 💁🏻‍♀️Entertainment The third floor of the homestay is a public leisure area, including a water bar and a sutra copying room. The water bar is uniquely designed with a stilted building style, high tables and stools, where you can enjoy drinks while overlooking the scenery, which is very pleasant. Unexpectedly, the kids love copying sutras 😂, with a choice of ancient poems and sutra texts, and the owner is very generous, allowing free copying. 👗Unexpected Gain - Tibetan Costume Photography The young lady host learned about my desire to take photos in Tibetan costumes and proactively offered to lend me their family's clothes for free, even recommending colors, which turned out to be very photogenic! Everyday Tibetan costumes are more authentic than studio-style ones! The auntie was also very considerate in helping me get dressed. 🍚Dining Each household in the village is independent, so it's recommended to eat in the homestay. When ordering dishes, the host will adjust the portion size according to the number of people, and the adjusted charge is also much less. Our family of three spent 100, and we were also given freshly baked pancakes (super delicious!) 📍Erxi · Banmo's Home
