Old Meets New at Chongqing’s Hongyadong

Hongyadong is a multi level, stilted shopping and dining center. It was once part of Chongqing’s city gate but in recent years has been refurbished into a commercial and tourist center. Hongyadong is situated at the intersection of the Yangtze and Jailing rivers in downtown Chongqing. At night the entire area is lit up and a spectacular blanket of red lanterns and golden rope lighting. Hongyadong has something for everyone! Flea market booths, noodle shops, ice cream stalls, tea and herb vendors as well as a large array of hot pot restaurants.
