If you love exploring new place and new adventure, you ought to go to the Punthuk Sukmojoyo. Located near Borobudur temple, this hill has one special characteristic, it has one board to stand up from the tree. Indeed, this place will be so lovely place to visit specially for the one who love photography. You will get any perfect angle to take the beautiful scenery. When it comes to the sunset, there will be no doubt about its beauty. Explaining about the name, Punthuk means a down land, which mean unfertilized land. Punthuk Sukmojoyo peak is the highest peak among the attracted hills around the Borobudur Temple, marked by a stone monument inscribed "Punthuk Sukmojoyo". The peak area is quite narrow and surrounded by canyons along with benches that enable you to sit or just to take a break from the hiking, a tree house, and self photo spot on the cliff. Located on the high area, Punthuk Sukmojoyo will always be the perfect place to enjoy the scenery around Magelang regency. Mount Merapi, Mount Merbabu, and a series of Menoreh Mountains can be clearly seen from this spot. From the hill, the visitors can also see the Borobudur and Chicken Church which is the heart of tourist in Borobudur. Seroja Valley. This hidden location offers natural beauty and stunning views of Dieng Mountains like Bisma and Sindoro. Reaching the top of Seroja Valley is indeed tiring, but it is a worthy effort. The trip takes about 3 km, actually. Along the way to the location, you can enjoy breathtaking nature views. The most famous one is definitely Menjer Lake! That stunning creek looks so charming and relaxing as if it eradicates everyone’s tiredness during trekking. Apart from the lake, you may pass through a footpath surrounded by majestic local farms. Some people even come to Seroja to do camping! It is because there is a special area that is used to build tents and to camp comfortably. For those coming for bathing, however, they must find the right spot to get in the water. The reason is most of the part of the pond contains sulfur, which causes discomfort to the body. The best idea is to come with a local guide, someone who knows the site well. Apart from taking a bath in Merawu Waterfall, you can do other activities as well. Those who love photography can explore several parts of the site and take good pictures of them. The best object is definitely the tallest falls that reside a bit further than the first one. It requires some trekking, but it won’t be a wasteful effort for sure. Once you reach the location, you would be amazed by those two majestic falls. The water is not quite hot because it has been mixed with the fresh water coming from the Merawu Waterfall. One thing, everyone should take care of the environment well. It is true that Lubang Sewu is considered a new vacation destination in Wonosobo. It even has an excellent popularity among tourists. The problem is visitors must come to the site at the right time. It is because the local lake may flood the site, especially during heavy rain. The best time to visit the site is during summer, when the rainfall is low. Also, lots of visitors come to the site during holidays. That means it can be quite uncomfortable for some people, as they don’t have the chance to find the good spot for photography. The right time to come to Lubang Sewu is between August and September when the weather is nice with less rain. Aside from photography, you can do many things there. These include an exploration, getting around the site and the nearby lake. For those who want to fish, they must carry a fishing rod and other necessary equipment. The fun thing is that the site resides next to Wadas Lake, which is the most famous tourist spot in Wadaslintang Village. Liyangan Site has the size of 10 hectares and it resides on 1080 meters above the sea level. In the location, you can see several historical items including hundreds of jars, several traditional weapons, and farming tools. There are also some reminiscences of grains, covered by the ashes of the Sindoro’s explosion back then. Though, the temperature is quite comfortable as it resides on a slope of a famous mountain – Sindoro. Another interesting activity to do in Liyangan Site is to visit a nearby pond called “Kolam Cinta” (Love Pond). As the name suggests, it has the shape of a heart. The fact is there are three of them, featuring different depth (ranging from a half to 1 meter). That means kids are allowed to get in the water and play there. Jatijajar cave is quite long and wide cave. Jatijajar Cave has added various kinds of facilities such as lighting, floors, stairs and air vents so that we will remain comfortable and safe in this cave. The most interesting thing in Jatijajar Cave is that there is a river in the cave. The river is an underground river that comes from underground water sources. There are four rivers in Jatijajar Cave namely; Puser Bumi River, Jombor River, Mawar River and Kantil River. The rivers have fresh and clear water. The rivers are not like watering rivers like the ones above in general. Winong Waterfall has a unique characteristic, which is its slanting landscape. Due to this uniqueness, most visitors want to climb up to the top as it is considered safe and easy. Another important feature is called Watu Kelir – three big stones residing near to the falls. One of them is located exactly under the waterfall, while the others reside side by side near to the first stone. They also become an interesting object for photography among the tourists. Some of the visitors prefer to reach and stand on them than any kind of activities, though. The plus point is related to its facilities. It is true Curug Winong is located in a secluded area, but there have been good facilities like toilets and local vendors. In other words, you can buy snacks and drinks at the location cheaply. Cipendok waterfall is located at a plateau in Banyumas region and officially made open for public in February 27, 1986 by the Banyumas Regent, R.G Roydjito. Go north of Cipendok, lies the largest mountain forest in Java. To be able to reach the bottom of Cipendok Waterfall we must walk some steps down. In the stream at the feet of the waterfall, there is a group of black, monstrous stones soaked by the heavy water. Cipendok Waterfall is a perfect site for those who seek solace or quiet surrounding for meditation. The road to the waterfall is lined with celery plantations and stalls selling tempeh, pure milk, tomatoes and peppers.
