The 'Southern Garden Autumn Breeze' is seen again at Jingcheng Nanyuan

During the May Day holiday, I heard that the Feiyan Pavilion in the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park was officially open to the public, and I entered the park with curiosity. As a child, I often played in Nanyuan, where a lot of 'Nanyuan Rice' was planted at that time. I liked to squat by the rice fields watching the tadpoles swimming with their tails in the water, and I enjoyed listening to the frogs croaking in the fields. After starting work, I would ride my bike past here every day, sometimes standing by the Xiaolong River, watching the silhouette of the anglers against the sunset. Watching people in leather pants harvesting lotus roots. More than 40 years have passed, and walking into the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park, I thought I would find the familiar scenes, but they felt strangely unfamiliar. Although there are still small bridges and flowing water, the trees on both sides of the main road in the park seem to be the same ones planted in the early 1960s, but the small wetland in my mind has long disappeared, replaced by the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park that is being created to restore the historical appearance of the 'Southern Garden Autumn Breeze'. The planned total area of Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park is 17.5 square kilometers, and it is only beginning to take shape. The park has expanded in size, and after entering, you can rent electric or pedal bicycles, and there are also electric buses, with bicycles available for three-person families and four-person families. The scenic area is divided into east and west parts by Huai Fang Road. To catch a glimpse of Feiyan Pavilion, I chose to tour the eastern scenic area. Enter through West Gate 1 and head straight for Feiyan Pavilion along the main road, where you can take a short rest at the Forest Book House along the way. Once inside the book house, the rich aroma of coffee hits you, and in the middle is a row of bookshelves where visitors can read, enjoy coffee, or gather outside in the tents to enjoy the view. The stream in the park babbles, and the small train station and tracks take my thoughts far away. This is a retired freight train railway line, which now remains filled with memories of several generations. Feiyan Pavilion is located in the southeastern corner of the park. Following the winding road to a total height of 59 meters, the observation deck shaped like a wild goose offers a wide view of forests, lakes, mountains, and high-rise buildings, making one feel exceptionally open and joyful. During the holiday, this is a gathering place for visitors, where people take in the scenery and take photos to remember the moment. The food and beverage counters at the base of the observation deck have names that are highlights of the park's scenery: Yue Xi He, Ping Yuan Hua Fan, Lin Xi Hui Fang, Forest Flower Creek, Autumn Leaves Rustling, etc. Deep in the dense forest, around the lakeside, you can see camping tents of various colors. The grass is lush, and among the green trees, children jump and play, people immerse themselves in the embrace of nature, enjoying the rare leisure time. As the construction of the park progresses, a park that recreates the historical appearance of the 'Southern Garden Autumn Breeze' will soon be fully presented to visitors.
