After being rebuilt following the earthquake, the Aso Shrine has been revitalized. Adjacent to it lies the main street known as "Aso Monzenmachi Shopping Street," which serves as the approach to the over 2,500-year-old Aso Shrine. This street is lined with charming old general stores, souvenir shops, and cafes. Strolling along the tree-shaded shopping street allows visitors to leisurely explore the area after paying their respects at Aso Shrine, savor local delicacies, and immerse themselves in the unique cultural atmosphere. Along the way, you'll also notice the "Mizuki" springs scattered throughout. "Mizuki" refers to drinking water spots. The spring water in Ichinomiya Town is sweet and has been regarded as the fountain of longevity since ancient times. The locals have always cherished and appreciated these springs. Over time, to allow more people to enjoy this pure and sweet spring water, around 20 wooden or stone "Mizuki" spots have been set up along the street to welcome visitors.
