Canals of Amsterdam Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Church of Our Lady
Beautiful Catholic church built in gothic architectural style. The tranquility in such a busy city, the beauty of the building and the images, the charisma of the churchgoers indeed a very beautiful church and even more inside. I really liked the columns, the vault, the altar and the windows.
Good spirituality Constructive contribution to your inner development. This is possible here through the sacraments of communion and confession. There is also regular Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, also known as Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
sunset boat cruise in Amsterdam canals
This is a must do if you are in the city, the streets are too crowded with tourists and noisy. You want to getaway from the noise of the city but still appreciate the beauty of its canals and views from the water. It’s a totally different experience compared to walking around. 🛥
It’s not cheap but really worth your time and money. I will do it again if I’m back in Amsterdam. I will go for a champagne and cured meats with cheese. That will be perfect 👍🏻
For those who afraid of seasickness, fred not, this has no current no waves, just smooth magic carpet ride, smoother than limousine on the road. Therfore you can enjoy even a hot tea or coffee ☕️ on the boat.

Rijksmuseum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Lovely Garden at Rijksmuseum
#familytrips2024
A peaceful oasis as compared to the Rijksmuseum, the Rijksmuseum Garden is located at the back of the museum and has much lesser people exploring the garden. Take a stroll around the lovely garden and take a rest at one of the many seats available around the garden. There is also a beautiful water fountain in the Rijksmuseum Garden. I will recommend you to take a break in the garden to relax after the grueling museum tour with the overwhelming tourist crowd.
Historical Amsterdam museum
Museum-hopping in Amsterdam is really convenient as many of their famous museums are located within the vicinity of one another in the borough of Amsterdam South. This one we visited was the Rijksmuseum, showcasing mainly the artworks and heritage symbols of the Dutch.
The entry tickets are fairly pricey, costing around 24 euros per adult, but the artefacts on display are very aesthetic and meaningful. There was even a huge notebook for the public to pen their hopes and well-wishes based on the theme of one of the art pieces!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rijkmuseum Amsterdam
One of the top museums here in Amsterdam and definitely a must-seen! Its very popular so better book the ticket in advance online. It's quite huge, if you wanna see everything you will have to take a whole day. The museun offers free apps which you can download easily on your phone, so you don't need to rent extra audio guide. Some of the important master pieces are on a tour exhibition so we didn't get to see then, which it's a pity. Make sure you visit the museum gift shop! So many interesting items!
Amsterdam!
Amsterdam has been so pretty!
Amsterdam is the capital of Netherlands, and it is full of artistic heritage, canals, bikes, and unique sights. It houses many museums as well, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, etc.
The city is easily accessible through train, bus, or plane through Schiphol Airport. To get around Amsterdam, main modes of transport are buses, trams, metro, sprinter, and even through cycling. It is very common to see people cycling here and they even have bike lanes everywhere.
The people here also generally speak good English, so it’s very easy to communicate with the locals. A really nice place to visit!

Van Gogh Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Legendary Museum
Loved my experience here. Note that you must book online and ahead of time. And be prepared for crowds.
Excellent tribute to Van Gogh's life. All his famous works are here, including sunflowers and self portraits.
The Versailles exhibition is a nice extra. Audio guide is truly excellent.
Lockers provided, excellent gift shop, cafes & restaurants, plenty of seats.
This is an absolute must visit

Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam
Amazing museum and many many Van Gogh paintings for you to admire. There is quite a bit people at times, and you should definitely have a reservation. It’s near the other museum so you can visit both in a day. There are also limited time displays on the other side of the museum. Tickets need to be booked online, usually not available on the same day, so better to plan 2-3 days in advance. Could find very interesting art pieces, Van Gogh's life and his painting skills exhibited in the most authentic way possible.

Heineken Experience Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
The Heineken Experience In Amsterdam
If you are in Amsterdam, one of the tours that I would highly recommend would be the Heineken experience at the Heineken brewery. It is a fun and interesting place to be at, as you learn more of the history of Heineken, it's beer making process and also it's brewery. The whole tour was very detailed yet it is not boring. You can enter the brewery and a guide is there to explain about the beer ingredients and what makes Heineken so special. It takes about 90 minutes for the entire tour and at the end of the tour, there's a complimentary glass of beer that you drink at the brewery. The Heineken experience is a pretty unique experience and your cameras will be busy snapping away as there's so many photo opportunites. Love the Heineken experience!

Have a beer at the Heineken Experience
The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam is the place to come if you want to learn all about how this famous beer evolved.
The experience takes place in an old Heineken brewery and you can learn about the Heineken family as well as see the actual brewing process that is used to make the beer.
This starts from the kind of water used all the way through to the bottling process and you can also see classic examples of the iconic Heineken logo and see how it has changed over the years.
As if that wasn’t enough, you can of course also sample this famous brew and end the trip with a tasting session.

This was probably the best experience here on our trip in Amsterdam. It's been on our list for over five years and we finally got to experience it in March. We went on a weekday and there wasn't any line is we had tickets in advance. We got there in a timely manner, and everybody was professional. From the security guard, to the person taking your jacket, to everyone that was giving the tour. It was super informational and gave us a lot of background history on the family as well as a family business. We got an inside look of how the beer was made and how it's still being produced. It was an interactive museum with a lot more offering than what we were expecting. This is one of the highlights of my trip. We spent approximately 90 minutes taking the tour and at the end had two beers with the complementary with the general admission ticket. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam. It's the perfect mix between a history, an interactive museum, a Brewery and a tasting room! Worth every penny

Tulip festival
Nice weather and beautiful flowers. Alot of different varieties of tulips at indoor and outdoors. Took a bus shuttle from Rai Train station. Crowded in the afternoon. Can ride a bicycle to explore the gardens. One of the must visit attraction in Amsterdam during end Mar to May. Will recommend to friends as well. Many food vendors in the park and relaxing to take a stroll. Spend almost 1 day taking pictures and admiring the full blooms.
Keukenhof flower garden in Amsterdam
Open for just a few weeks every year is the Keukenhof garden in the Netherlands. It is nicknamed the Garden of Europe as it is one of the largest flower gardens in the world. It sits on a huge site of nearly 33 hectares!

Amazing display of tulips!
Keukenhof Park is also known as the Garden of Europe. It is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the municipality of Lisse, in the Netherlands. Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens annually. Keukenhof Park is widely known for its tulips, and it also features numerous other flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, roses, carnations and irises.
Keukenhof is located in the province of South Holland, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam in the area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek). It is accessible by bus from Haarlem and Leiden train stations as well as Schiphol. Though its grounds are open year-round for private affairs and festivals, Keukenhof is only open to the general public for a world-renowned 8 week tulip display from mid-March to mid-May, with peak viewing arriving near mid-April, depending on growing season weather, which varies annually

Keukenhof Holland Tulip Season
KEUKENHOF 🌷 1, 2 or 3 ? Memories from my little trip in Holland during the tulip season two years ago ! I got the chance to visit the famous Keukenhof Garden and was blown away by the colors and shapes of the tulips. I heard it is unfortunately not allowed to open for the second year in a row so I hope it will be open next year as it is truly a must-do for anyone who is visiting this part of the country near Amsterdam 🙏 Have you ever been ?
