2026 Pullman Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in September)

I've been curious about this hotel for a while, and finally decided to try a staycation here. It turns out...

It sounds like a simple question, but it often leaves people stumped—ever felt like something is just not quite right? The struggle of picking the perfect sun lounger is real for everyone. How do you deal with it? My recipe is this: first, scan the area and pick a spot with a large cluster of beach beds so you have plenty of options—go for a group of about 30 rather than just 10. Check the thickness of the mattress; the thicker and higher it is, the more comfortable you'll be. The umbrellas should be placed close together to create deep shade, which keeps it from getting too hot. Next, head to the quietest area with the fewest people for some peace and calm. Grab a lounger, pay, and you’re all set—just relax and enjoy! ❤️ My personal favorite for several seasons now has been the loungers under the green umbrellas near the Pullman Hotel. Everything here is just perfect 😅 Let's start with the location: there are plenty of umbrellas, and people are spaced out rather than being packed in. There are two levels—one closer to the sea and another three steps up. There are massage beds available for foot, face, or Thai massages. You can also buy snacks or drinks from the staff renting out the loungers; the prices are very reasonable. The place is also lovely because of the trees 🌴 The mattresses are thick, the beach beds themselves are relatively new, and the friendly staff brush away the sand. They provide a table, and today they even gave me a pillow ❤️🥰 They saw me dozing off and made sure I was cozy; everything here is designed for your comfort ☺️ These are my honest recommendations 🌊 By the way, the price for one lounger is 100 baht, which I think is a great value 😉 P.S. I booked this hotel as a surprise for my wife's birthday. With two young kids, I wanted a comfortable and enjoyable place rather than a business hotel, and Pullman caught my eye. Having stayed at Pullman in Jangchung-dong and Jakarta, I had certain expectations. I reserved a junior suite and added an extra bed. Upon entering the room, it reminded me slightly of the now-closed Namsan Hilton with its cozy Namsan view. The hotel felt fancy and spotless, like a brand-new establishment. The huge TV and IoT system using Giga Genie left a strong impression. However, the large windows being close to the bed made the morning sunlight a bit overwhelming. I later discovered the electric blinds, which could be controlled via the Genie pad, and managed to block the sunlight. This early wake-up turned out fine as we enjoyed an early breakfast. Though the restaurant wasn’t large, it had everything needed for breakfast with excellent quality. A piece of Korean beef tenderloin was served per person, and while the portion was small, it was exceptionally delicious—filling up with other buffet items made it perfect. The hotel also offers a pool with a shallow area for kids and a warm jacuzzi, which added to the experience. For families with young children or couples seeking a relaxed staycation, this hotel is ideal. Many urban hotels are catered to business travelers, so they lack the cozy retreat vibe. This place, however, is truly perfect for unwinding.

The location is excellent, overlooking Hyde Park and just a 5-minute walk from George Street, the main street where you can easily catch trams (using a credit card to tap on/off is the simplest payment method). The reception is stunning, staff are helpful, and check-in and check-out were very quick. Higher rooms are quieter with better views. The rooftop hosts an outdoor pool, a small spa, a gym, a sauna, and a shower, all open until 11 PM. Rooms are well-equipped with an iron, hairdryer, small fridge, and a selection of tea/coffee. They're comfortable, though many are older; the hotel has begun refurbishments, modernizing amenities with additions like walk-in showers. I deducted a star due to an experience related to accessibility. As someone requiring a walk-in shower due to injury/disability, I encountered an extra charge for it, which felt unfair. However, after discussion, the fee was waived. Discovering the accessible shower by the pool would have helped, but I was initially unaware of it. The 'accessible' room also has minor design flaws—water from the shower pools near the toilet, creating a slip hazard, and a bathroom nightlight would be a useful addition. Next to the hotel is a convenience store, and restaurants and nightlife are just around the corner, so there's no need to venture far if you prefer to stay close. Before booking, I compared other nearby Accor hotels and even checked a few during my stay. The Pullman stands out as far superior, and overall, I'm pleased with my choice.

Day 1️⃣ Vancouver → Leavenworth → Pullman Put the longest and most tiring drive on the first day, partly because we had more energy and partly because we were interested in the scenery along the way haha Leavenworth is a German-style town, great for photos, with various bars 🍺 and shops along the street. We randomly picked a Mongolian BBQ place. The taste was okay, but the outdoor second-floor seating was very nice and photogenic Stayed at 🏨 Hotel McCoy Pullman at night, quite clean Day 2️⃣ Drove west along the wheat fields and scenic spots, stayed near Ellensburg at night, only 2 hours from Seattle 🚗 30 minutes from Pullman → Steptoe Butte State Park, 30 minutes drive. You can drive painlessly up the mountain. The route is full of beautiful wheat fields. At the foot of the mountain, we even took a photo of the Windows XP desktop. The top is a large viewing platform overlooking the wheat fields below. Using a telephoto lens, I saw on Xiaohongshu that in June it’s mostly green, but when I went in July, yellow was more dominant than green. 🚗 Over 1 hour drive to an old school bus graffiti spot on the way to Palouse Falls, a classic American road trip photo spot 🚗 Palouse Falls shares the same daily pass as Steptoe, but we missed it due to a wildfire closure 🚗 Over 1 hour drive to Wild Horse Monument, a group of wild horse statues 🚗 Another 10 minutes to the scenic overlook of the Columbia River, with a grand canyon vibe, very spectacular 🚗 About 20 minutes to Wild Horse Wind & Solar Facility, a wind power station 🚗 29 minutes drive to the second night’s accommodation Holiday Inn Express, located in Ellensburg downtown, just a few minutes away Day 3️⃣ Took a walk around Ellensburg downtown then departed, skipping Seattle downtown (too much traffic), went straight to Lynnwood to charge and grab a Shake Shack, then back to Vancouver! About 1,600 km in total, we charged 7 times on the way! You can imagine the distance. It was tiring but the scenery was definitely worth it!

You absolutely must visit the Palouse Wheat Fields in Seattle! 🌾 It's a 7+ hour drive from Vancouver, but I definitely don't regret it 🥹 The scenery along the way is like something out of a road movie, and Palouse is truly breathtaking! Rolling waves of wheat, endless fields, the entire wheat field bathed in golden light at sunset—it's so beautiful you don't know where to look! This time, I also included windmills, the Columbia River, Palouse Falls, and the German town of Leavenworth in my itinerary. Two days and one night was just right. The hotel is basic, but the service is excellent. Free breakfast is included. You can call ahead to ask about the wheat field colors! Day 2 📍Departure from Hotel ➡️2 hours 20 minutes 📍Scenic Overlook of the Columbia River (Photos 13-14) ➡️2 hours 📍Leavenworth, a German-style town (Photo 16) It's recommended to allow 2-3 hours for leisurely exploration of many unique shops. 🍴Ludwig’s (Photo 17) The roasted pork knuckle is highly recommended! I think it tastes much better than another popular restaurant. ➡️ Back to Vancouver (approx. 3 hours) 🛒 Stopped at Trader Joe’s to stock up, perfect ending to the trip! [Tips] 🌟 The whole journey felt like a Windows desktop background (Picture 15) 🌟 Buy your Discovery Pass (Day Pass $10) in advance. 🌟 Steptoe Butte is best for sunset viewing. 🌟 Sunscreen and insect repellent are essential for summer. 🌟 There are many police in Washington State, remember not to speed.
