2026 Hexham Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in August)

Six friends walked Hadrian's Wall from west to east and had a fantastic time thanks to Leanne from Raw Travel. The accommodations were delightful, with every host providing more than sufficient housing and exceptional meals. Staying at Twice Brewed with a rest day to visit Vindolanda proved to be an amazing suggestion! Leanne's open communication was incredibly helpful, and despite the "undulations" of days 4 and 5, the stunning beauty of northern England made it all worthwhile. Overall, a perfectly planned and executed multi-day walk, earning a 10/10 from us.

We absolutely loved our private tour of Hadrian's Wall and Vindolanda fort! Stephen's approach was engaging, laid-back, approachable, and highly informative. Through free-flowing conversation, we built a connection as Stephen thoughtfully answered all our questions about the Roman ruins and Scotland in general. He made a point of taking us along stunning scenic routes, letting us fully enjoy the gorgeous countryside while he shared detailed insights about each landmark. It was truly an unforgettable day!
