SCENICS OF THE PALATINES
Although the Palatine Hill may be disregarded by many Rome tour operators due to the prominence of its nearby neighbor, the Colosseum, you wouldn't want to skip it. Without a full exploration of the historic city, a trip to Rome is not complete. The ruins of its ancient palaces, which were once the residence of emperors and the location of temples, are still visible from a distance. This majestic hill, which towers over the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus, was the focal point of Rome's most significant myth, the legend of Romulus and Remus. Comprehending the Palatine and its fascinating history is essential to understanding Ancient Rome.
The Palatine is an excellent area to get away from the throng because it is surprisingly quiet even during the busiest travel season. The panoramic views are another, possibly the best in all of Rome. From a vantage point on one side, you can see the Circus Maximus and the Aventine Hill across the valley. The Colosseum, the Capitoline Hill, and the labyrinthine ruins of the Roman Forum may all be seen on the opposite side, which offers the most breathtaking views. The Palatine is the best site to get a new view on Rome and its past.

Visiting one of seven wonders of the world
Visiting Colosseo is definitely a must when traveling to Rome. To avoid queue, be sure to book your ticket a week before your visit. I was going to buy the ticket on the spot, but it’s a long queue on site and the tickets are almost sold out. I’ve tried to buy the ticket the night before our visit but I couldn’t get a ticket. So I went on the second day at 8.30am to buy the tickets, ID is required when you purchase the ticket. Student promo price is only valid for Europe citizen. The normal ticket is €16 which give you one time entrance to the colosseum, palatine hill and Roman Forum.
My advice, avoid visiting in summer cuz it’s gonna be super hot!

Magnificent Colosseum
Located just east of the Roman Forum, the massive stone amphitheater known as the Colosseum was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people. In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum—officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater—with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
After four centuries of active use, the magnificent arena fell into neglect, and up until the 18th century it was used as a source of building materials. Though two-thirds of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time, the amphitheater remains a popular tourist destination, as well as an iconic symbol of Rome and its long, tumultuous history.

Roman Forum, ancient government centre
#visitrome
It is impressive to see the structure that still has their fragments and shapes available after more than 2000 years has passed. It is the ruins of where government buildings once built around 8th century BC before they were abandoned during the Dark Ages. It also houses several temples of worship such as the Temple of Vesta. The structure of the Arch which serves as the replica for many countries, called the Arch of Titus, is still standing upright in the Forum. The surviving structures are a few such as Temple of Saturn, Temple of Vespasian, Forum Main Square, Bascilica Aemelia etc. Major excavation works are still in progress to unearth more relics and structures underground.

Travel back to 2000 years ago
Roman Forum is a vast excavated area which you will surely encounter on your way to the Colosseum. This is the site of the temples, squares and government back in those Roman times, dating back to more than 2000 years. It was the centre of the day-to-day life of Romans.
You can certainly peek from outside while walking past. However, if you wish to visit, then it is advisable to purchase tickets online and note that there are 2 entrances. To best enjoy the visit, I would highly recommend you to first watch videos about the Roman life or to do some graphic reading. It would then enhance your imagination during your visit and enable you to picture how did they live back in those days.

CITY CENTRE OF ANCIENT ROME
Roman Forum, also known as Forum Romanum in Latin, was the most significant forum in ancient Rome. It was located on a flat area between the Capitoline and Palatine hills. In republican times, gladiatorial battles, law courts, and public gatherings all took place in the Roman Forum, which was also lined with stores and outdoor markets. Many of the city's most impressive temples and monuments were located there throughout the empire, when it primarily served as a hub for religious and secular performances and rituals.
The Cloaca Maxima, the Mamertine Prison, the Temple of Saturn, the Temple of Vesta, the Temple of Romulus, the Temple of Castor and Pollux, and the Temple of the Deified Caesar are just a few of the buildings that have survived in whole or in part.
