#easytravelpost Estellencs is a village at 400 m, start of the 2.5 km coastal path to Banyalbufar (or the shorter 1 km pine balcony to the cove). I took the TIB bus 212 from Palma (€3.50, 55 min), started the walk at 07:00 in May. The cliff moss is the pine balcony path: Hylocomium and Sphagnum in the Aleppo pine needle bed, Fissidens on the limestone outcrop where the path cuts, and the cliff above the cove has Metzgeria on the seep—the pines are 100 yrs old, the moss glows in the filtered light. I walked the 1 km to the cove at 07:30, the moss cool, a warbler in the pine, the sea flat. The path is free, no facilities—carry water. Mistake: I walked the full 2.5 km to Banyalbufar at noon and the sun was brutal—dawn or 16:00. Another: I wore flip-flops and the pine needles were slick; trail shoes. Would you walk Estellencs pine balcony for the cliff-moss cove at 07:00, or sit in the village and watch the Tramuntana mist?

#bucketlistdestinations Before visiting Mallorca, it was easy to imagine it as simply another Mediterranean island for beaches and summer holidays. That seriously undersells it. Yes, the beaches and hidden coves are beautiful enough to justify the trip alone. But then you start exploring the island and realize how quickly the landscape changes. There are dramatic mountain roads through the Serra de Tramuntana, stone villages surrounded by green hills, coastal viewpoints and Palma with its enormous cathedral rising beside the sea. That's what put Mallorca firmly into bucket-list territory for me. I wouldn't have to choose between spending a trip on the beach or exploring - I could do both on the same day. And some of my favorite moments were simply driving around and stopping whenever the coastline or mountains became too beautiful to ignore. Hotel Samos is a great option if you want to stay in Magaluf and be close to all the fun, the beach, and the nightlife. 🌴🍹 The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with balconies to enjoy the view. The location is amazing — just a short walk to the beach and the famous Magaluf strip. The pool area is lively with a great atmosphere, perfect if you like music, cocktails, and social vibes. 🎶🍸 I stayed here on a holiday trip and it was the perfect base to explore the island during the day and enjoy the nightlife in the evening. Absolutely stunning location! The animation team is fantastic, offering a variety of activities throughout the day like water polo, water volleyball, water carpet, pool games, darts, and table tennis for those who want to join in. Special thanks to Daniel, Danny, and Pier for making entertainment so enjoyable. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have comfortable beds—we had a beautiful sea view room on the 7th floor. The hotel atmosphere is wonderful, with both quiet pool areas and livelier ones depending on your preference. As all-inclusive guests, we found the food fantastic, especially loving the Asian night on Thursday. We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday!

A fantastic adults-only, all-inclusive hotel in a serene, picturesque cove. It offers direct sea access for swimming. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless, and though we opted out of daily towel and sheet refresh, this service is available. There are excellent local restaurants and a small supermarket nearby. While close to Magaluf, the hilly walk may be challenging for some, so consider €5 taxis. The Drach caves tour with stops at Felanitx Market, Majorica Pearls, and Porto Cristo was breathtaking!

The hotel is only a 25-minute walk from Magaluf and conveniently has two reasonably priced, friendly shops right outside. The food is always beautifully presented with a different variety each night and plenty of options. Our balcony offered a breathtaking view of the bay, and the rooms were cozy and spotless. The atmosphere is relaxed, with incredibly friendly staff, especially Daniel, the entertainment host, who truly stands out. Fairly priced, the hotel offers great value, making it perfect for our first holiday without family. Evening entertainment includes nightly bingo followed by live music performances, except for Tuesday’s quiz night. Although the crowd is mostly older couples, the vibe allows even livelier guests, like us as a young couple, to have fun. We met many wonderful people during our stay, and everyone was super friendly, particularly Daniel, whose boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm made every activity, from water volleyball to mini golf and table tennis, an absolute joy. Thanks to Daniel and the overall welcoming environment, we had an unforgettable and fun-filled experience.

The location is fantastic, with the pool area leading directly to the sea and only a 15-minute walk to Malagaloof or a quick 5-10€ taxi ride. The entertainment staff are excellent and very funny; we really enjoyed spending time with them. The rooms are nice and comfortable. However, the long bar queues are a downside—either more staff or another pool bar is needed. The food is very good with a nice variety. Most staff are friendly, but the lifeguard is rude and lacks manners, even taking sun umbrellas from people who briefly leave to eat or drink and giving them to others. Visiting the cave at night is a highlight with bingo, singing, and amazing performances—the entertainers truly make it special. Overall, it's a nice, clean hotel, and this is my second visit.

What an amazing experience... Beautiful hotel, super clean and tidy. Everyone speaks fluent English. Great enjoyment lounging by the pool, with easy access to a refreshing swim in the open sea. The food selection is varied, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. The animation team is perfect—such wonderful people providing fun entertainment. Not too long, but just the right mix of everything. Evenings at the Cave bar were very enjoyable (with a fantastic team, including Bibi—a fantastic guy). Thank you, Daniel and Pier Paulo. The location was superb, being very close to the beach and main shops. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and the sea view was much better than we had hoped for. The pool areas were well-kept and never overcrowded. Finding sunbeds at any time of the day was hassle-free. Going all-inclusive, we enjoyed a wide variety of food options. The staff were consistently kind and accommodating.

I’m a frequent traveler, and this place truly impressed me. Our room was fantastic, with comfortable beds, exceptionally clean, and in great condition. The private pool was lovely, featuring sunbeds and daybeds with freshly covered mattresses—all included at no extra cost. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was superb. We stayed in room 3208 Palm.

This newly opened resort has been operating for just a few months, and with the Mandarin Oriental name, it aims to offer a top-tier luxury experience. We were greeted warmly by the friendly front desk staff, and our bags were promptly taken care of. We were offered water and a local cold tea, which I personally enjoyed, though it may not suit everyone. The check-in process was smooth, followed by a resort tour before being escorted to our room. Being a brand-new property, some aspects were still under development during our stay. Two more restaurants are expected to open, and while the landscaping is already pleasant, it will improve as the greenery grows. The resort features an art gallery and scattered sculptures, which are quite charming. There are two pool areas with a noticeable difference in service quality. The pool closer to the entrance, which appears to be about 25 meters long, had outstanding service. Staff were attentive, ensuring a wonderful experience. Sunscreen was provided by every pair of sunbeds, and towels were thoughtfully replenished. Small shots of gazpacho and other treats were occasionally served, and drinks, including canned water, came chilled in cooling bags. This was a true five-star experience. The second pool, overlooking the Mediterranean, fell short in comparison. Sunbeds were set up with just one towel, and while another was provided upon request, drink orders were occasionally forgotten. Sunscreen was not provided by the sunbeds, and staff engagement was minimal. Although it was still an enjoyable experience, it didn't fully align with five-star expectations, especially given the discrepancy within the same resort. Both pool areas focus on tranquility and relaxation. Guests seeking a party atmosphere with a DJ may need to look elsewhere. We stayed in a casita perched on a cliff edge overlooking the bay. The room itself was small but complemented by a spacious, beautifully designed bathroom. The private patio included sunbeds and a sofa, offering breathtaking views. However, a public trail ran just outside our patio, separated by only a rope, leading to occasional foot traffic. This detracted from privacy, though perhaps future landscaping could address this issue. It's worth noting to securely lock the patio door to ensure safety. The bay is popular for boat anchoring, which adds some noise, especially when music is played on the boats. However, the casita’s soundproofing mitigates disturbance, and boats usually disperse after sunset. Despite this, we may consider choosing a more private room for future stays. We dined at Leña, which offered a different experience compared to its Marbella counterpart. Utilizing local ingredients, the food and service were excellent. While the vibe here is calmer, those who enjoyed Marbella’s Leña will likely appreciate this one as well. In summary, while the resort holds tremendous potential, it is not yet fully deserving of its premium price tag. Mandarin Oriental is known for ultra-luxury, and Punta Negra hasn’t quite reached that level—but it likely will with time. In a year or so, it could be outstanding, and I wouldn’t hesitate to give it another chance. The venue truly has all the potential in the world.

As a fan of M.O., visiting the newly opened hotel on Mallorca’s southwest coast in July 2026 was a must for me (near Palmanova and Costa d'en Blanes, just a few kilometers from Palma). The resort spans three hectares and offers a beautifully maintained garden and abundant nature on a peninsula extending into the sea, with direct access to two small beaches. Although external guests also visited these beaches, they were never overcrowded. Previously home to the Punta Negra Hotel, the entire property was gutted and rebuilt to achieve an ultra-luxury standard. My son’s birthday provided the perfect occasion for our visit. From our rooftop suite, particularly the approximately 200-square-meter terrace with a private pool, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Playa de Palmanova's skyline on one side and Puerto Portals on the other. The bright interior, featuring Mediterranean colors, created an inviting atmosphere that we truly appreciated. The personal service, especially from the Leppoc team and Gaetano Campo (Assistant Restaurant Manager), deserves special mention—absolutely top-notch! At the "Sobretaula" restaurant, located right above the sea with an elegant terrace and garden bar, we enjoyed exquisite Spanish tapas. At "Leppoc," we savored both a delicious breakfast and a memorable Mediterranean dinner. In the evening, we also had the chance to experience the modern steakhouse concept at "Lena Mallorca." Unfortunately, the Japanese and Mexican restaurants hadn't opened yet. The SPA facilities with an indoor pool were also impressive. This new resort undoubtedly has the potential to become one of the best hotels in Mallorca—we’ll definitely be back.

Just got back from a 5-night stay here, and the hotel is wonderful. We had a room with a full sea view, which was stunning. The rooms were cozy, equipped with a fridge and kettle, and stocked with free Rituals toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and cream). Opting for half board, we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner as every meal was excellent. There were freshly prepared dishes, like omelettes made by a chef in the morning and fish or chicken cooked in the evening. Securing sunloungers was never an issue, and we preferred staying at the quieter end of the area where we could sunbathe with an uninterrupted view of the sea. Being able to take quick dips in the ocean, thanks to the hotel’s beachfront location, was another highlight. All the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we never faced issues with service during our stay. I absolutely plan to return, as I couldn't find a single flaw!

One trip to Mallorca barely scratches the surface. That’s probably the biggest reason I’d return. You can spend one visit enjoying Palma, its historic streets and waterfront, then come back and build an entirely different trip around beaches, mountain roads and small towns. The island can be whatever kind of destination you want it to be. There are days for swimming in incredibly clear Mediterranean water, evenings for wandering through Palma, and road trips into the Serra de Tramuntana when you want something completely different from the classic beach holiday. That variety makes Mallorca especially easy to revisit. You don’t have to repeat the same vacation twice. For me, the perfect return would combine a couple of days in Palma with a car and no overly strict plan for the rest of the island. We just returned from a two-week stay at this hotel and had a great time overall, though there are a few areas that could be improved. As mentioned in other reviews, the snack bar area often got very dirty. During our second week, we finally saw staff cleaning tables, but this should happen more regularly. Assigning a staff member to clean up food and tables every hour could solve this issue. That said, guests could also make an effort to clear their own mess. The sunbed situation was quite frustrating. Since we booked a superior room, we always got a bed on the rooftop, but we felt bad for those who had to queue daily just to get one. The staff were generally pleasant, and the reception team was always helpful and polite. We particularly enjoyed the nightly bingo, though the entertainment overall was just okay. Our main disappointment was with the all-inclusive drinks—extremely watered down and no branded options available. On the positive side, the food in the restaurant was delicious and very well organized. Sitting outside during meals was a lovely experience. Despite these minor shortcomings, we truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. If management could address the simple issues that many guests have pointed out, this hotel could easily reach an excellent standard.

Another excellent stay—very calm and relaxing, spotlessly clean, with a fantastic staff that goes above and beyond for guests. There were no sunbed wars, and although we only stayed 4 nights, we wished we could have extended our trip. We stayed in a premium studio with a partial sea view, which was spacious as all rooms are. The air conditioning worked superbly and was included in the cost. The hotel is well-situated, with a convenient back gate providing easy access to restaurants, bars, and the beach. This was our third visit, and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Palmanova. It's also just a few minutes' walk to Magaluf and the local Lidl.

Just wrapped up a week at Sol Lunamar Palmanova, and it was a great experience. The location is superb—on level ground, surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, and just a 2-minute walk to the Son Mathias beach across the road. We opted for the Premium room with a Solarium, which included rooftop access and a private Balinese bed. This meant no scrambling for poolside loungers, although there always seemed to be plenty available. The hotel was impeccably clean. Rooms were tidied every other day, as explained during check-in, but any additional needs like towels, toilet paper, or pillows were promptly taken care of between scheduled cleans. Air conditioning in the rooms was a much-needed relief during the hot week we stayed. The kitchenette was well-equipped with a hob, sink, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, and even a small freezer section. Pool towels require a €10 cash deposit, though we opted to buy towels for €5 at a nearby shop—great to have choices. There are two small lifts to cater to guests staying on floors 3 to 7, and it appears there are accessible rooms located on the ground floor as well. One of the standout features was the pool area’s back gate, which provides direct access to the shops, bars, and beach. Your room card lets you come in and out until 1 a.m., which we found very convenient. While we didn’t use the pool or snack bar much—opting instead to relax on our Balinese beds and dine out—the staff impressed us with their friendliness, especially the two lovely cleaning staff we chatted with. We’re already planning to return next year!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Palia Trópico Playa and truly have no complaints. The location is fantastic — directly across from the gorgeous Palmanova beach, with shops, bars, and restaurants all just a short walk away. It’s ideally situated, close to everything yet maintaining a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well-maintained. Our room was comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The entire hotel had a fresh, inviting vibe, and the staff were friendly and accommodating at all times. And then there’s the food! 😍 The buffet was incredible, with a massive selection presented beautifully. The photos don’t do it justice — there was such variety, with dishes from different cuisines, all fresh and mouthwatering. The tapas selection stood out as particularly spectacular! A big shoutout must go to Lucas, the head chef. ❤️ His passion and pride in his food are undeniable. Not only is he incredibly skilled, but he also brings warmth and a positive energy to the restaurant. Lucas made every guest feel welcome, and his culinary efforts, along with his team’s, are truly commendable. Lucas, you really outdid yourself! 👏❤️ The atmosphere across the hotel was delightful — calm, friendly, and welcoming without ever feeling overwhelming. We especially enjoyed the rooftop adults-only area, which added an extra layer of relaxation. For us, the hotel offered amazing value for money. Considering the prime location, beautiful ambiance, comfortable and clean rooms, attentive staff, and the exceptional all-inclusive food and drinks, we felt it was well worth it. We would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Palia Trópico Playa and would certainly return. A massive thank you to the entire team, especially Lucas, for making our stay so memorable. ❤️

Our holiday began a bit unexpectedly. Upon reaching Zafiro Palmanova, we realized we had mistakenly booked the wrong hotel—we had meant to stay at Zafiro Palace. From the moment we arrived, Maria showed incredible kindness, understanding, and a willingness to assist. She worked tirelessly to find a solution, and thanks to her efforts, after spending just one night at Zafiro Palmanova, we were able to transfer to Zafiro Palace. Zafiro Palmanova is a lovely hotel, perfect for families with children, though it wasn’t quite the right fit for us. However, Maria’s dedication turned what could have been a stressful situation into a wonderful experience. Her professionalism, kindness, and genuine eagerness to help were truly remarkable, and we can’t express how grateful we are for everything she did to ensure our holiday went smoothly. Working in hospitality myself, I understand how much impact people like Maria can have. She is a true credit to both the hotel and the industry as a whole. If you're looking for a relaxing base close to Palma and the vibrant Palma Nova, this hotel is an excellent choice. We opted for the all-inclusive package again—great value for money. During our first stay, we had a Mountain View, and this time we chose a sea view (which does include a view of the bins below if you look down). Personally, I preferred the Mountain View since it's beautifully lit at night, whereas you can't see much of the sea after dark. · *Pros:** The hotel is impeccably clean, features spacious grounds, a large pool, and plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day. There's a free shuttle bus to and from Palma Nova, and the food in the restaurant and pool bar is of good quality with an impressive variety. The bedrooms are cleaned daily, but we opted for every other day to give the cleaner a bit of a break. · *Cons:** The rooms are slightly small, the location is hilly with plenty of steps down to Cala Mayor and back up, and the lifts—while quick—tend to stop at every floor. I interacted cheerfully with staff, making use of my basic Spanish. While some staff members seemed a bit grumpy, others, especially the bar staff like Mark, Franco, Alex, and Laura, were friendlier and more engaging. The restaurant staff worked extremely hard despite it being busy at all times. However, ordering drinks at lunch and dinner was sometimes problematic, as we had to repeat our orders multiple times. The quality of alcoholic drinks seemed to have decreased since last year, particularly the wine, which tasted watered down. My husband, who doesn’t drink alcohol, was disappointed that the "0% beer" still contained a small amount of alcohol, making it impossible for him to enjoy. Truly zero should mean zero! Two minor issues dampened our experience. First, it was my husband's 50th birthday on the day we arrived, and I had emailed ahead hoping for a small acknowledgment, but no effort was made—not even a simple "happy birthday" at check-in. Thankfully, I had a reservation at The Olive Tree that evening, where they celebrated him wonderfully. Second, my husband’s prearranged bike hire through the hotel went awry, as the bike arrived nearly two hours later than expected, with no explanation or apology, leaving him too frustrated to go on his planned ride. Overall, we enjoyed another relaxing stay. The free shuttle bus came in handy, and we also took the 46/47 bus across the road into Palma several times. Will we visit a third time? The jury's still out!
