Great location, more than amazing staff and really nice experience overall. The map they give you is superb, and breakfast is also very good. My only con was the fact our room had stairs which I did not realise from the photos, but besides this - The Orchid really made our stay in Beijing feel super special. Thank you!
MILAIAN HOSTEL
4.2/5235 Reviews
Shangdi and Zhonguancun Area
The hostel is alright. It's a bit hard to find as the signs are a bit hard to spot. It's located next to an internet café which may explain the lingering strange smell within the rooms. I arrived late at night after everybody used the facilities and the cleaners didn't have time to go through. There were things like toolboxes in the washimg basins, hair clips in the showers. The top of the beds and showers were really dusty. The location is fine, the subway is not far. Service was very diligent. The other guests are very kind and friendly. It's a nice atmosphere among the guests. For the price, it's an alright stay in Beijing.

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
Great location, nice building and very good host. Very secure and safe building, easy access and convenient to all places, metro is 15 minutes walk away or one bus stop if you don't want to walk. Very quiet building and we never ran into any neighbors on my floor during our stay. Host was very helpful to meet us at the building, helped with our luggage, gave thorough instructions where to eat etc. Housekeeping was done every two days, and supplies of drinking water was offered. Enjoyed very much our stay, and will come back again when in Beijing!

Hutong Courtyard Beijing
4.6/566 Reviews
Qianmen (Front Gate) and Chongwenmen Commercial Area
We stayed here as a group of 3 for our first time visiting Beijing. The staff are so long and helpful - they really deserve some praise. One of the group members lost something in a shopping centre earlier in the day and they helped us get in contact and arrange for it to be delivered back to us due to the language barrier. Place is very clean and lovely rooms, the staff also re stock your water and toilet paper etc daily. 15 minute walk from Qianmen station. Would definitely recommend!
Beijing Guyuan Hotel
3.9/589 Reviews
Houhai Area
Well, for a budget trip and you want to live near the city center, this price is reasonable. The hotel is also located near bus stops, so it is convenient to travel around. However, the facilities are quite old and the road to the hotel sometimes have a lot of garbage. If these are not your problem, this hotel is acceptable.
Jinggu Sihe Beiluoguxiang Guesthouse

The location is in the hutong~ The hutong is well connected and it is relatively easy to find. It takes about 7-8 minutes to walk from the subway~ The room is of moderate size. The small bed on the second floor is very suitable for children to sleep. There is no need to worry about falling. The handrail of the stairs is a bit creaky (˘•ω•˘). Two bottles of water in a 4-person room are indeed not enough~ There is also warm water in the lobby~ The bathroom has enough space~ The bed is very suitable for me and very comfortable~ Walking in the hutong every day, listening to the residents' chatter, it feels very Beijing~ There are many attractions nearby, and it is also close to Tiananmen Square in the early morning~ The children also like it here~
