It is recommended to go in the morning, where you will see the terraces meet a stunning sea of clouds, like morning light encountering a fairyland on earth. Whenever the breeze sweeps over the terraces, the mist wraps around the layers of greenery like a light veil. The stilted wooden houses in the distance appear faintly through the mist, as if they have stepped out of an ink painting, truly beautiful. (For those setting out early in the morning, remember to bring a jacket as it is colder on the mountain and there is more mist. You can also bring a hat or a disposable raincoat to protect against moisture and keep warm.) The sour soup fragrant roasted pork rice noodles in the Dong village are delicious and a must-try. The rice noodles are very smooth, and usually, you can only choose between sour soup and clear soup. This time, I chose the highly recommended Jinshan Homestay｜Drum Tower View Room. The room environment and bedding are very clean, the bathroom is very tidy, and the room has a small balcony. If you book in advance, upon arrival, a staff member will arrange to pick you up and drop you off. The homestay has no elevator, and the room is on the 4th floor. The housekeeper will arrange to carry your luggage to the room. ⭕️ The only suggestion is to add a non-slip mat in the bathroom because the floor tiles become very slippery when wet.
