Serene Getaway in Guilin, China 🌸
Overall - This hotel was absolutely perfect for our one night transition from arriving to the airport to exploring the beauty of Guilin. The room was so well put together with beautiful interior design that provided a calm and peaceful environment. Beds were very comfortable, the amenities were impressive, the rooms was incredibly clean, and the L'occtaine body wash was a major plus! :) Breakfast - Our room included breakfast which was delicious. We ordered the western set the night before. It arrived with many options of food from American and English influence. Hash browns were a 10/10. Getting There - About a 45 minute drive from the Guilin International Airport. Attractions - We visited the Sun and Moon Pagodas which are located directly outside of the hotel's entrance! Elephant Trunk Hill is also within walking distance of the hotel and is a beautiful hike with lush scenery. Food & Restaurants - We ate at a delicious Indian restaurant located just around the corner called 'Kali Mirch Indian Cuisine'. I think it may have been the best Indian food I've had so far in my three years living in China. Biking around Guilin 😍
I decided to head over to Guilin for the weekend. The weather was perfect and time was all I had! I do wish I had the opportunity to cross over to Yangshuo for more beautiful nature. From Shenzhen we took a fast train straight to Guilin. This took a total of 3 hours. Once in Guilin we booked a hotel and got a taxi to the hotel. (I highly recommend getting the location pin from the hotel then calling a didi or a taxi on Baidu maps as the taxis outside the station will try to rip you off. They tried to charge us 70rmb for a 2km ride when it was only 20rmb via a self booked taxi) Once in Guilin we had to visit Elephant Trunk Hill which was extremely busy. There were hundreds of people coming out of tour buses so the whole experience wasn’t as great as I’d hoped it would be. It was difficult to take pictures and people were crowding to take pictures of us. This made moving around really difficult. Once we finished touring the grounds we rented e-bikes and travelled around the little town stopping at different locations to get some pictures and hangout. One of my favorite spots was the Sun and Moon Pagoda grounds which hold stunning views of the city. Hotels - there are many hotels available on TRIP and other sites. We stayed at JIANGPANBIEYUAN hotel which was in a good location but the pool wasn’t filled and the reason was so that babies don’t drown if they fall in. Food & Restaurants - There are many options for food. From Western to Chinese, you can literally walk down the Main Street and see plenty of restaurants and street food markets. Walking near No. 5 Luosi Mountain Road, every step resonated with history, shops bustled on both sides, and the air was filled with the aroma of rice noodles, tempting us to savor this local delicacy. 🏠【Home Away from Home】 Staying at Mr. Yan's Courtyard, Lakeside Garden B&B, felt like staying at a friend's house. Every piece of furniture was handpicked by Mr. Yan, and every decoration revealed the owner's thoughtful touch. Especially the panoramic floor-to-ceiling window showcasing the starry night sky. Lying on the soft bed at night, counting the stars, it felt like the entire universe belonged to you. 🌺【A Private Corner in a Sea of Flowers】 The courtyard is filled with various flowers, interspersed with succulents, adding vitality to the space. My favorite hotel resort, hands down. I recently went to a unique hotel in Guilin with my best friend and had an amazing vacation. The hotel is located in the Guilin Sunac International Tourism Resort, surrounded by 470,000 square meters of beautiful scenery, as if you were living in an ink painting. Guilin Shiboge Hotel The hotel rooms are very unique, with 300 folk-style rooms and suites, each with a large mountain and water view balcony, so you can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery from your bed. The Yao-style architecture blends perfectly with the surrounding mountains and water, making you feel especially relaxed. The most surprising thing is the hotel's restaurant, which offers a wide variety of buffets, from seafood to desserts, and you can eat whatever you want (just don't waste it), and every dish is so good that you can't stop eating.
