Great stay !!

The hotel is old and the room is a bit small for 4 persons. But free parking and breakfast with the price is very good.

It's simple. You can give it a try, but it's a pity that it's cold and there's no elevator.

The Holiday Inn was Brilliant value for money .Clean with great staff Only down side was the walls were a bit thin ,especially when next door decided to have a full blowen argument at 2 in the Morning The Bathroom expelair decided it would come on when it liked usually early morning.

I made a duplicate order with a friend, but they didn't cancel it. It's not humane at all. I just grabbed it.

Clean, safe and friendly

We both got a fantastic sleep every night which we never get at home an what we didnt like was seeing a woman putting her child up beside the pancake machine while she got her hot food.

Booked this to have new year with my grand parents but due to the floods in York and flooding there home out, than grandad getting rushed to hospital we rang the hotel to see if we could rearrange explaining the circumstances but was passed from one to another but the manager wouldn’t speak just kept saying no in the background,I understand we booked with the no refund policy but it would have been nice if we could have at least changed to another date, so lost our whole stay and money, we stay in holiday inns regularly for work but this one I will avoid at all costs,

Staff very helpful and the hotel was very clean and well kept .

Room cleanness is OK. Service is good. Breakfast is OK.

I decided to stay here after having stayed at holiday inn express at cornwall. The latter had been a delight. Clean and modernised room and shower, smiling and attentive staff, two elevators, clean kitchen etc... I thought the experience here would have been the same... Instead it was a shame. I'll start with the bad : - we were given a second floor room and the premises do not have an elevator. I visited with my elderly mother and thankfully her legs still work for staircases. But if you need special accessibility, forget it. - I had to delay my stay with them for two days since I had a cold and I couldn't drive. They declined both a partial refund or allowing me to extend my stay by those two days despite my being ill. I had booked for 5 nights, managed to stay the 3 and was charged for all 5. - the room (252) was tired beyond belief : toilet seat was unstable. Toilet itself had limescale in it upon arrival. The desk chair had stains at places I'd rather not think of their origin and I had it replaced (though the person who I mentioned this too at the hotel seemed unimpressed and annoyed that I did). There are cobwebs on the ceilings corners. Cracks in the wall have been painted unceremoniously with non marching paint. Old non washable stains on the pillows and duvets. Not enough plugs (the plug by one of the two bedsides is screwed tight shut). - single charger and an expensive one for all EVs. There is more but I ran out of characters. Avoid.

I was very pleased with it overall and felt comfortable with staff who were helpful and friendly. The facilities were very good . The close location of a public house, plus a park and ride to the city centre and a retail outlet being a very short ride away was brilliant. Only slight ******, there wasn’t a lift to first floor . Have already recommended it to family and friends.
