Facilities: The facilities are good, with everything you need. The room is quite new and spacious. The air conditioning works very well, and the hot water is excellent. The curtains are a bit sheer, so very light-sensitive guests might want to bring an eye mask. Hygiene: The room is clean, and the bedding is clean. There were a few small flying insects at night, so it's best to close the windows early. Environment: The location is truly excellent. It has its own small courtyard, and the window of this scenic room faces Yuetan Pond. Yuetan Pond is right outside, and everything is close by, perfect for early morning photo shoots, haha. Around Yuetan Pond, there are breakfast shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and cultural and creative bookstores, making it very convenient for exploring. The fish lantern parade also comes this way at night. Service: Check-in and check-out were very convenient. The owner is very enthusiastic, provided a travel guide, and contacted us before arrival. They can help with luggage into the village. Overall, very satisfied!

This guesthouse in Hongcun Scenic Area is absolutely wonderful! It has a simple yet elegant courtyard with a strong scholarly ambiance. The owner is incredibly friendly and kind, offering luggage pick-up and drop-off services throughout our stay. They also thoughtfully arranged for us to dine at excellent nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner. Upon checking in, we immediately headed to Wanxing Tower near the guesthouse for stinky mandarin fish and rice with vegetables, which, unfortunately, were quite bland. However, the design of Nanhu Guanyuan itself is very refined and tasteful, and the breakfast spread offers a great variety, perfect for a heartwarming and satisfying start to the day. The guesthouse is exceptionally close to the Nanhu and Yuezao attractions, making it easy to take leisurely strolls in the morning or evening and soak in the beautiful, misty江南 (Jiangnan) scenery. My trip to Hongcun in Anhui was truly delightful, and staying at Nanhu Guanyuan made it even more enjoyable. Plus, the scenic area's parking lot charges a maximum of only twenty yuan for both day and night, which is incredibly good value.

The room was clean, tidy, and very cozy. The owner picked us up and dropped us off at the parking lot, and we were able to store our luggage at the hotel after checking out, allowing us to explore Hongcun without any hassle. The owner told us to wait for him at the parking lot when we were ready to leave. Seeing him arrive with several bags and our two suitcases made me think he was the coolest and kindest B&B owner ever! I'd give him 10086 thumbs up. Oh, and he even gave us a bottle of chrysanthemum tea.

This guesthouse is located in the heart of the scenic area, a century-old house that offers tranquility amidst the bustling surroundings. It provides quick access to core attractions like Yuetang Pond and Nanhu Lake. The owner is very thoughtful, evident in the room decor, furniture, and choice of toiletries – taste is revealed in every detail. They also provide emotional value to guests, with shuttle service from the scenic area parking lot, welcome fruits, and farewell gifts. The service is also well-balanced. I'd especially like to praise the breakfast and the garden. Although the breakfast is served à la carte with limited options, almost everything is delicious. The guesthouse has a large backyard garden. After a long day of sightseeing, returning and sitting on a rocking chair in the garden makes it feel as if the whole world stands still. The only minor drawback is the poor sound insulation, which might affect light sleepers.

What an absolute pity...... that we only stayed for one night. It was a totally relaxing and perfect location for us to put our feet up after hiking for 3 days in HuangShan. We booked the detached grand suite which allowed us to have access to a whole traditional home with 3 bedrooms. All bedrooms had its own bathroom and toilet, heating... basically modern facilities and tastefully decorated. For me, it felt like staying in an old traditional home in one of the kung fu movies that I grew up watching. Not only did we have the whole house to ourselves, we had our own private garden (across from the house), where there is a swing, entertaining area and even a stove for us to light a fire. The couple owner are so lovely to deal with even before our stay began. They ensured that they are ready to greet us just outside the village at our arrival time. Please note that no taxis are allowed into the village and all visitors must purchase an entry ticket before entering the village. This can be purchased on Trip.com or at the entrance of the village. The owner lady was on hand to help us and showed us to our accommodation. She had even turned on all the heating in the rooms to ensure that we're nice and comfortable when we arrived. Map and points of interest were also provided for us. As we had to leave early in the morning (before sunrise), the owners happily arranged to have our luggage transported to outside the village where our taxi was waiting for us. It was such a pleasant and relaxing stay that, again, it is such a pity we couldn't have stayed longer. Definitely highly recommend staying at She De Yuan.

The owners are very friendly and helpful with us being overseas visitors giving us local tips what to see and helped us with our luggages at checkin and checkout. We speak limited mandarin but they are patient with us. They even sorted out our dinner for the first night. A note is that you pay Hongcun attraction ticket to stay with them as they are inside Hongcun attraction and it is convenient to stay out late and not to rush out. The homestay is beautiful decorated. The closest drop off point is the Hongcun South parking lot which is useful to know if you never been to Hongcun. Will stay there again.

We stayed at a guesthouse located right in the heart of Hongcun, which made it very convenient for exploring the village. The lodging was clean, comfortable, and fully functional. The owner and his wife were genuinely kind—they personally came to pick us up and even prepared a small farewell gift when we left. Hongcun itself, however, was extremely crowded despite not being in peak season. Because of that, if we return to the area, we’ll likely choose to stay in Xidi instead. It’s about 30 minutes away, much quieter, and offers a similar traditional village experience without the overwhelming crowds.

Just spent two nights in Hongcun and it was an amazing experience! The guesthouse is right next to Moon Pond, and opening the window feels like stepping into a traditional Chinese ink painting. The owner was incredibly welcoming; they contacted me beforehand to help with my luggage and recommended some authentic local food. The room was quaint and clean, full of traditional Huizhou architectural charm. At night, the village quieted down, and sitting in the courtyard, sipping tea and gazing at the moon, truly felt like time slowed down.

Wonderful stay in a truly unique property. Zhang Mansion is much more than just a hotel: it is an authentic experience inside an ancient traditional mansion, perfectly immersed in the historic atmosphere of Hongcun. It almost feels like being transported back in time, into the quiet and refined beauty of China from several centuries ago. The interiors are full of charm, history, and character, and staying here allows you to experience the village in a much deeper way than a simple day visit. The atmosphere is calm, evocative, and almost cinematic. A very sweet detail: the property’s cat and dog are genuinely lovely and add an even warmer, more memorable touch to the experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, romantic, and timeless stay.

In early September, two friends and I planned a trip to Huangshan, Anhui. Our first stop was Hongcun Scenic Area, where we had booked our stay at 'Hongcunli Qinghe'. This guesthouse boasts an excellent location right at the village entrance of the scenic area. As soon as you step outside, you're greeted by vast rice paddies and majestic mountains. It's also conveniently close to popular photo spots within the scenic area, and dining options are easily accessible. The rooms were clean and well-equipped. The owner and staff were incredibly warm and hospitable; their pick-up and drop-off service was spot-on. Any request we had was addressed immediately. They even proactively helped us hang our laundry to dry and collected it promptly when it was ready. Although we experienced some occasional light rain, overall, it was a fantastic experience. A truly wonderful trip!
