Farmers Guest House

With an ethos of making a stay at the Farmers Guest House (FGH) a truly relaxing and enjoyable break for their customers, Mark, Luke and Eileen go to extraordinary lengths to fulfill that promise. From the moment one steps in to FGH there seems to be nothing that is too much trouble for them. We had the pleasure of experiencing the Charlotte Suite which was immaculately clean and comfortable. In the fridge was a cute cheese tray and crackers and supplied wine to suit, all of which could be enjoyed in the privacy of one's room or in the lovely social areas. Our bed and pillows were so comfortable, my wife tried to find out where they source their mattress and sheets. The piece de resistance however has to be the breakfast which was the perfect combination of sweet and savory and definitely more than sufficient to start the day off perfectly. Add to that, complimentary orange juice and champagne for a delicious mimosa should one desire it. FGH is also perfectly located for a short walk to Main Street with an abundance of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Our favorite of this trip was Fried Green Tomatoes where we enjoyed a superb meal. This was our first stay at the Farmers Guest House however before we left we made sure to make a reservation in a couple of months and we cannot wait to see what culinary delights the team puts forth for breakfast. We highly recommend this establishment (if you hadn't already guessed!!!!!)

This B & B is amazing! Mark, Luke & Elaine are just awesome & really made our stay special. And the breakfast is amazing - including the gluten free meals! Every afternoon they offer wine time - with fresh cheese and cracker packs. The location to the Main Street shopping and restaurants is super convenient. We loved it and already booked our return trip!

We picked Farmers Guest House to celebrate our 30th anniversary and could not be happier. Extremely easy to check in, warmly greeted and everything we needed was there. This location is very close to downtown and a 5 minute walk to where it's all happening. And the breakfasts; amazing! Great variety, fresh local ingredients, served with a smile by attentive folks. It made us look forward to every morning, but plan accordingly as the portions and variety are a full meal! Breakfast is served in a great room with original features and modern touches. Huge windows let you enjoy the day and everything was just where we needed. Talking with the owner was a highlight of our stay. He was unassuming but very engaging and we shared some great conversation over a wide variety of topics. It's clear he cares a great deal not just about his customers but the community and world. We stayed in the Charlotte Suite, just off the dining area on the main floor and it was awesome. Lots of room, the fireplace was welcome during our early February visit, and the bed and furnishings were very comfortable. If you're looking for a great place to spend some time in Galena, this is the one.

We loved staying at the Farmer’s Guest House! Great location to Main Street, wonderful breakfast each day, and such great hospitality from Luke, Elaine, and Mark! Our room was very spacious, clean, and nice! We stayed in Julia! Would definitely stay here again!

Our first stay at a bed and breakfast. It was a delightful stay. It met all our expectations for a new experience. We will refer our families and friends. We will definitely come again when we come to Galena again.

Not knowing what to expect, with being our first bed & breakfast experience. All we can say is WOW what a quaint, comfortable, quiet, friendly atmosphere. Luke, Elaine & Mark go out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. When we arrived, we parked our car and did not get back in it until we were leaving. Everything is within walking distance. Final note, the cheese, crackers, soft chocolate chip cookies and wine in our room just makes us want to go back again. And WE WILL. Elaine is a highlight at this beautiful,spotless B&B! Elaine’s energy and excitement is endless each time we where greated! Luke is exceptional, he contacted us to confirm our suite was ready ahead of check in time. He goes beyond the measure of customer satisfaction and ongoing service. Breakfast is amazing and we would rate much higher than allowed, absolutely delicious and served hot with smiles and multiple confirmation we needed anything. From check in to check out we felt valued and honored to be their guest!! Exceptional B&B !

Fantastic stay! We went for our wedding anniversary and had the best time! We really enjoyed how close it was to Main street and we never had to use our car the whole weekend. The breakfast was delicious and wonderful variety! We can't wait to go back!

The hosts were welcoming and friendly. They covered all the details to make sure we had a perfect stay. We had wine/cheese in the afternoon, sweets in our room for a treat, and lovely robes. The best part of our stay was the breakfast, which was amazing! I would come back just for a taste of breakfast again. The location was also great and just a short walk to the main attractions for shopping and dining.
