The Mast Farm Inn

What a fantastic couple of days. Stayed in the Loom House, clean, comfortable and the perfect getaway for my wife and I. The staff is so attentive, and the work they are doing to upgrade the facilities to meet demands of the community are exciting. What an excellent place for a wedding, or just a getaway. We have been coming here for 15 years and it just keeps getting better. We can't wait to get back. Thanks to Allen, Allisyn, managers, and owner Justin and Dad for a great stay!

Mast Farm Inn was fabulous !! We booked online. Greeted by Allison and Savannah. They upgraded us and gave us choice of any room or the 1828 cabin adjacent the Inn. Every room was beautiful but we chose the cabin. What an incredible experience. Gas fireplace. Huge tub. Comfy king bed with soft linens. Highly recommend and we will definitely come back. Great hospitality on a personal level. Thank you again for everything !!

We had an amazing long weekend at the Mast Farm Inn. It was an especially wonderful experience for my children, who loved getting to pet and feed the farm animals that live on site. The bedrooms were spacious, bright, and well-appointed and the kitchen had all the basics we needed. We also loved the homestyle food served at the Inn, but make sure to take note of the hours, as they're not open all week long. The proprietors are so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to return! (I would also recommend taking advantage of the River Birch Nordic Sauna that is adjacent to the property--very luxurious and relaxing!)

The Mast Farm Inn is my favorite place in the NC Mountains. The Mast Farm Inn has become a home away from home for my family and me. We have been coming here for over 15 years and each trip lives up to the exceptional standards we have for it. The cabins and main inn are beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. We enjoy the authenticity of how the rooms are decorated and the way the HISTORY of the inn is highlighted during your stay. The innkeepers have always been welcoming and hospitable but Allisyn and Alan are exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help us with restaurant recommendations and ideas on things to do while we were in Valle Crucis. Try the Mast Farm Inn, you'll be so glad you did!

Mast Farm Inn was the warmest place we've ever had a vacation at. I spent half of my life living in Hawaii, and there's a phrase used out there in the islands called "The Aloha Spirit". Everyone at the Mast Farm embodies it. The people running this place took us in and treated us like members of their own family. Our daughter had the time of her life hanging out with them and their farm animals. The place itself is the best of North Carolina. When you imagine what the most scenic areas of this beautiful state look like, what you're thinking of is the Mast Farm Inn. :) Beautiful streams are just a short walk away, there are farm animals right outside the houses you stay in, and the accommodations themselves have all the rustic charm of pictures you find on postcards. It goes without saying that we'll be back. We're already looking to plan a trip there this summer when my sister-in-law comes to visit from Europe.

Absolutely wonderful family vacation spot! Mary Mast cabin was perfect for our family of five (three under 8yo) and two small dogs. All the modern conveniences you need without any stuffiness or pretension and was the best compromise between DIY vacation rentals and a traditional hotel. Clean, cozy and charming cabin, close to the horse pasture and Watauga River. Our kids absolutely loved the horses, goats, and donkey--what an amazing surprise! Allisyn, Allen, and their team were so welcoming, accommodating, and really just made us feel like family. The tavern breakfast and Easter brunch served excellently executed Southern classics, and the waitstaff was authentic and attentive. We will definitely be back and look forward to the Mast Farm Inn being our home base for many more NC mountain adventures.

My boyfriend surprised me with a trip to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina where we had the most magical stay at The Mast Farm Inn! This town and the Inn are out of a Hallmark Movie! It was the perfect escape from Charleston and Charlotte. A close drive surrounded by stunning mountains, farm animals, quaint restaurants and shops! The cabin was very clean and cozy! The staff went above and beyond for us while we celebrated my birthday!

We had a last-minute weekend getaway at the Mast Farm Inn. I called them directly and got a great deal on their Cherry Room. The room is more spacious than you would think. The room has a nice sitting area and, a beautiful rustic bathroom with a claw tub. The mattress wasn't for us, but everyone is different. You can see the owners are making updates constantly. It is not an easy task with such a special and historic property. If you are looking for a modern hotel, go somewhere else. This is a beautiful rustic property. Appreciation to the details and its history is seen all over the property. It includes a nice bar with mead cocktail specials and a cute little souvenir shop locally made jellies, etc. In addition, there is a parlor with a fireplace; perfect for relaxing or playing games. Across the road from the main house is a barn with goats and donkey that are a big hit with young families. This is a place to unwind, enjoy the historic sites, and relax. It is close to town, which makes the modern-day amenities convenient if needed. The hotel bar closes around 9 PM. We hiked during the day and relaxed later at the property. Did I mention you can have your dog for an extra fee? You can also add SAUNA, MASSAGE, ETC. to your stay. But most of all we were BLOWN AWAY BY THE SERVICE! Carrie welcomed us to the INN after hours of driving and offered to make us a drink right after closing the bar. She was very professional and friendly. Everyone wears many hats. Savannah from the front desk let us taste different types of mead at the bar and answered all our questions with a smile on her face. Martha made our checkout easy and was so nice. Al gave me treats for the goats and even gave me gorilla tape to repair a torn boot. It was a very pleasurable experience and I want to thank everyone. We will be back. Dasha and David

Great trip to The Mast Farm Inn. I rented the Granary cabin and was very impressed with the cabin, service and attentiveness of the staff. The cabin was cozy and full of history, the grounds are beautiful and the woodstove is a nice touch. Alan, who works on the grounds, delivered an additional rocking chair for us and made sure there was firewood on the front porch on a chilly evening. Overall, really cool place. I'll be back to stay a bit longer next time. Thanks Mast Farm!
