The outlook is beautiful, the room was lovely and clean. However, unfortunately we got the room next to the kitchen and it was very noisy, not well insulated at all. The kitchen is fantastic and very well equipped. The guy who booked us in was lovely. The only issue we had was that the owner charges 4% surcharge for using a card to pay which is a total rip off, especially when the payment is processed on line by them. The banks do not charge 4%.

Along with Parnell, Ponsonby is our favourite place to stay in Auckland. We stayed at the Great Ponsonby Art Hotel again this year and have no regrets. We always enjoy returning here. Parking is no problem in the hotel grounds or on the street. The small, beautifully furnished hotel offers the kind of hospitality we like most: the staff are attentive and very friendly. The service has been just perfect. This time there were three of us travelling together and we booked the penthouse room and one of the three pavilions behind the house. The balcony and garden are perfect for enjoying an aperitif or a take-away menu. If you're lucky, the odd bird will pay you a visit - this time a kingfisher was a special guest. The rooms are clean and pleasantly large. The pavilions are outfitted with new bath rooms. The cooked breakfast is a dream, just like in the good old days when there were many more B&Bs in New Zealand than there are today. Ponsonby Street has a great selection of restaurants and there is something to suit almost every palate. We were never disappointed. And last but not least Ponsonby is perfectly located for a stroll to the CBD and many sights as the Auckland Museum or the Auckland Art Gallery. We shall return.

The room had shampoo and body soap available, and both the room and the bathroom were clean with good security. English is not my first language. I have lived in Australia for one year and spent two weeks in New Zealand, and I have never had trouble understanding English before. However, I had a little difficulty understanding the English spoken by the receptionist at this hotel. He didn't have a smile, so I felt a bit nervous.

Great hotel in very central location. The shower leaked and the bathroom was a little small but the friendly staff made our stay very pleasant

This hotel is more suitable for business trips, the location is a highlight, but there is no water in the room, it is too strange to go to the water dispenser next to the elevator to pick up the water, others are fine, but this price is not a bathtub is also a pity. It is very convenient to have Chinese at the front desk. The decoration is like this. It is relatively new.

New concept hotel. Art meets industrial with green credentials. Central garden restaurant and bar is lovely with food and service is excellent. Rooms are small but carefully designed. A few teething troubles as had just opened when we stayed but these will be sorted by a clearly committed team. Gym, spa and small lounges and meeting rooms give a great vibe. Would definitely stay again.

Wow, from pulling up to the Hotel and seeing the run down building to the interior musty cigarette smell and then the rude girl at the counter, we didn’t have high hopes. This was confirmed when we had to call police as there was no answer from reception to assist with an incident occurring on site. This was understandably out of the Hotel’s control but why is there no after hours service and also no sympathy given we had 1 hour sleep. Mouldy ceilings, windows that are so broken they do not shut, and fearing for safety. Would never recommend.

Very nice place, the room was clean, comfortable and very warm, the host ROB was very nice, we stayed at the end of the day, he has been waiting for us and arranged for us, it is a beautiful place, the location is also good, pleasant Check-in experience

Staying at the hotel, it is super clean, and there is an induction cooker where you can cook your own breakfast or dinner. A disposable dinner plate was also thoughtfully prepared. Chinese people are not used to knives and forks. It is recommended to bring your own chopsticks. It contains a plate and a bowl. If not enough add it yourself.
