Hotel le Caballin

Quietly located on an island in the Rhine near the border in a nature reserve. The room was very large and furnished to a high standard. All facilities on the ground floor were barrier-free. The breakfast was sufficient. Egg dishes were available on request. There were enough parking spaces at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We are used to eating here with my partner, we were always happy. Yet at the beginning of August, accompanied by friends, we were disappointed all along the line, from aperitif to dessert. The Apérol Spritz was bland, I asked the waitress if there was less than the classic dose. She looked down at me telling me in a dismissive tone that it had been done as usual. She still took our glasses to add more. I taste again, it was tasteless, I finally think the Prosecco had been forgotten or it had been diluted too much with sparkling water. At the meal, we had a fresh salad: the mozzarella used was the one to be cooked (it was hard) the salmon did not have much flavor and was cut very co****ly, there were no apples provided for in the composition of the salad. The same waitress comes to ask us if everything is fine during the meal and leaves without waiting for our answers. For dessert, the chocolate cake was not cooked enough. In short, waitress not friendly, not smiling at all and mediocre meal.

Lunch with a friend. We didn't have a reservation. Excellent welcome, the waitress did her best to place us on the terrace. The à la carte dish is excellent as well as the dessert. Fair price. Attentive service! High quality establishment.

I will only talk about the restaurant, not having tested the hotel. The cuisine is excellent, there is absolutely nothing to complain about, from meal to dessert. Small flat concerning one of the waitresses ... Who had the mask under the nose (so no interest ...) And allowed herself to get rid of while we were still eating, limit she snatched the plate from us! It happened twice... The least you can do when everything isn't finished on the plate is to ask if you're done. Otherwise highly recommended of course!

Visit for the opening of the Chris**as markets, hotel poorly indicated and located in an industrial area. Covid period therefore obligation to control the sanitary passes and the wearing of the mask. No request for passes for the hotel and the restaurant! We had our masks on, it was not the case for everyone... They are surely on the hunt for customers but we will not have to complain when they have to close!! Positive point very comfortable room but do not be looking at cobwebs and black traces of insects crushed on the walls. On the other hand, expect to live with your neighbors upstairs! A disaster ! We had taken two nights, for the second we left before 8 p.m.... I had to pay for the two nights (more than 300€) no gesture... not to mention the breakfasts at 10€Per person for two mini pastries, a coffee "sock juice" and two bowls of cereal! So 40€.. In view of the noise and the inconvenience the owner did nothing except tell me "I don't know what to do sorry" a shame! I would point out that we were in the recently renovated part. Once their day is over, the employees do not respect the hotel guests with incessant noise! Trays that slam, crockery, tables… Remember to check your reservation because despite ours I received an email telling me that everything was complete!! To finally have a confirmation by phone that our reservation was made. We deeply regret having chosen this hotel!

A little break in Alsace. The location is perfect. Waking up by a small lake, sleeping in pleasant surroundings, Alsatian specialties served with French charm, a glass of sparkling wine or two. It doesn't get much better!

Quality cuisine with good fresh products! We had a great time and highly recommend this restaurant! The owner and the staff are very kind and friendly. The restaurant has recently been renovated, beautiful interior and very nice view! After seeing negative comments, I really do not understand, for us it is only bad times. Everything was perfect, we had a great time and will definitely come back!

Charmant hôtel bien situé. Belle Chambre spacieuse mais mériterait juste un petit coup de rafraichissement. Bonne literie. Propreté des lieux. Excellent restaurant. Personnel au top très professionnel et très gentil. Séjour super agréable. A conseiller sans hésiter.
