Hotel Restaurant Rothorn

The hotel is located a few meters next to the bus terminus, Sessellist valley station and in the village center. so far so good. The desired chalet-style house is a bit old. On the one hand, the dining room with a beautiful wooden ceiling and the bathrooms have also been refreshed. On the other hand, there is a lack of love and professionalism at check-in. After a short while of excitement, the booking was found - let's search by first name. Anyone who speaks Italian has an advantage. the room is decently bourgeois with the charm of the 80s. The deck chair on the terrace as well as the sofa are overdue. OK for one night, although the Swiss price range is at the upper limit for what is on offer. The breakfast was kept minimal, here too, loveless, like unfortunately almost everything in the house. It's a shame - in general, people wish there was a little more to offer in Visperterminen and dear, the village is actually quite nice

Very unprofessional from check in to check out! We stayed twice with half board. The food was edible, but had nothing to do with good Italian. Written on the menu, other products were served, impossible. Dishes on cold plates. Service, worse than at home! No idea about service culture and hospitality. The language was only Italian, not a word of German. Never heard the word table setting, new cutlery, tasting wine, etc.! The only positive thing was the room. Bathroom was new and there was enough space. Conclusion: never again!!!

Good and cheap hotel. Very accommodating and friendly reception. The room was clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in a long time, and was personally served at the table with very good coffee. The only negative point is that the boss only speaks Italian, but you could still communicate somehow.

Pros: A very pleasant hotel with beautiful views over the Visperdal on the one hand and the Rhöne Valley on the other. Staff was extremely friendly, hospitable and helpful. The breakfast was very extensive every day, with something hot included every day. A big bonus for the coffee, which was more than excellent (both the 'regular' coffee and the cappuccino). The minibar in the room is also a plus. In addition, we as a group also ate once in the restaurant; this was also excellent! Negative points: A minor negative was that it was sometimes difficult to communicate with some staff, because their knowledge of German or English was limited. In addition, a (small) negative was the limited number of (free) power points in the hotel room. The other downside was the limited number of (free) parking spaces at the hotel. Parking is free until 8am in the other parking lots in the village, but after that you pay with coins only.

All employees are very friendly. The hotel is clean, the rooms are functionally furnished. Ideal place to start the hiking area. The kitchen offers predominantly Italian dishes. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. A simple, pleasant, warm and friendly hotel.

Nach unserer langen Wanderung freuten wir uns auf das Hotel und das Essen. Leider war kein Zimmer auf meine Namen reserviert obwohl ich mehrfach mit dem Besitzer telefoniert habe. Mein italienisch ist so gut, dass wir uns ohne Mühe verständigt haben. Dies ist wohl nicht das erste Mal passiert und so tauschte man kurzfristig ein anderes Zimmer/Gast um. Ausgehungert gingen wir ins Restaurant und machten uns über die Speisekarte her. Leider waren fast alle Positionen durchgestrichen/ nicht mehr erhältlich. Also entschieden wir und für Pizza und Lasagne. Als wir bestellen wollen, sagte uns der Kellner das der Pizzateig aufgebracht sei und es Lasagne nur im Winter gäbe. Die ganze Hotelorganisation ist eine absolut Katastrophe.

Leider unfreundlich. Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 14 Personen da, Restaurant nicht voll. Wir haben 70! Minuten auf einen gemischten Salat und Spaghetti (MENUE) gewartet! Wir wollten um ca 18.30 essen, hatten Kinder dabei. Ich finde das eine absolutr Frechheit! Ich esse hier nie wieder.
