Sugarloaf Mountain Motel

Virginia City|0.5km from Comstock Firemen's Museum
I have stayed at the Sugarloaf Mountain Inn many times. It is a small, quaint family run hotel at the end of C St. The prices are reasonable and comparable to the other establishments in the area. It is conveniently located within a short walk from downtown and two doors down from a Mexican restaurant, which I have reviewed separately. There is an on-site convenience store, which is where the check-in counter is. The store carries regular and adult beverages, snacks and other miscellaneous items you may have forgotten or needed in your travels. There is no icemaker on site; however, there is ice available in an icebox located in the store in convenient grab bags for guests to take. The pros of staying here are by far the friendly staff. Heather, who checked me in and operated the shop during my stay, was so helpful and kind. I also met two women that tended to the rooms who were very friendly. I had my pup with me, who I bring with me on my travels and everyone here was accommodating and welcoming. I stayed in room 11 on this visit, which was a first for me, as I am usually traveling with someone and get the double room, which is number 5. Room 11 was recently updated I was told and while it is a small room, I typically am only sleeping there, so it did not bother me. The bathroom is larger than expected and the newly installed shower and tiles were a lovely update. The room had a smart TV, microwave and refrigerator. If you want coffee, bring your own, I knew this ahead of time, so that is what I did. They may have it in the shop in the morning, but the shop does not open until 8 am and I am an early riser. Parking is available in the front of your room and if for some reason the lot is full, there is parking on the street. If you have a dog, you will need to walk across the street to the empty lot to let them relieve themselves. Thank you Heather and staff for making my stay so comfortable. I am sorry my pup chewed up the roll of toilet paper, lol. I will be staying with you all again on my next visit.
