We would have given 5 stars except for two things: 1. Pillows were 'rock hard'. 2. No proper menus - everything on a QR code which is no good if you haven't got your 'phone with you (after all, this was a beach holiday!); and even the way it was set up made it difficult to browse and get a full view of the overall menus. If nothing else, have one of two paper copies available for people like us (we weren't the only ones complaining about this during our stay).

We had our wedding in the Stella Maris in September 2023. The location and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Presidential Suite and it was spacious, unique, comfortable and had the most incredible view from the balcony. Our wedding took place in the garden overlooking the sea and we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect setting. Throughout our stay and during our wedding we had an amazing time. The beautiful gardens and beach are ideal for a relaxing holiday and we cannot thank the staff at Stella Maris enough for making our wedding day so perfect. It truly is a piece of paradise. We were sad to leave but cannot wait to return again soon!

The room was clean but taking a shower was difficult and controlling the temperture was not easy as it was a bath come shower thing. NOT GOOD. As for the breakfast it was a disaster the selection wes poor and when I ordered porridge and asked could I have some fruit with it I was told that I could have honey and that was all. when it arrived I could not eat it as it tasted vile and was proberly cooked in a microwave. The two poached eggs were nice but they arrived on a dinner plate with nothing else. The staff were pleasent but I will never stay in the Stella Maris hotel ever again. I paid €110

We have just returned from Sardinia, Stella Maris, booked through Citallia. We had a great time, just over an hour from the airport, we a private transfer both ways. Very Quiet gently sloping sandy beach well looked after, Great sea views. Food was fantastic, we like to eat earlier but Evening meal was started at 8pm. Very hard working staff, efficient Reception, resturant and Bar teams. a perfect get away.

Amazing beaches and water, lovely staff and incredible food (half-board highly recommended). Excellent and different a la carte choices offered every night. 2 bugbears which prevented me giving 5 stars- 1) It is usual for a top hotel to provide a couple of bottles of complimentary water each night. SM does have the water in the minibar, but they charge for it, which is a little annoying. 2) They have a private, lovely beach. However they charge 50 euros per day for the use of their beach sunloungers, which we were unaware of beforehand. For a hotel of this type, we would not expect to pay for this (and certainly not so much). However, overall, we had a fantastic stay - loved being able to rent e-bikes so we could explore the area.

This hotel has potential with its location etc.. But the unexpected surprises make for a less than pleasant stay. Firstly despite trying multiple times to book on the hotel’s website directly (which was futile attempt) we booked on a third party website with no discount and were told on arrival that beach access was to be charged at 50-70 euro per day! The breakfast is rather austere. Dinner on the other hand is quite good. All in all it is a hotel with unmet potential.

Nice place, nice resort, especially outside area mainly with renovation of a terrace of the bar, nice beach. Calm place for good relax. Very good kitchen, with genuine quality of food and changing menu every day. Appreciated occasional live music during the evenings in the bar.

Rating as 2 - Poor experience. First of all the good: 1) The best, turquoise beach we'd ever been to. Arriving in early June to Stella Maris was the perfect time, the weather was a sunny 23 degrees with plenty of sunbeds everywhere, for everyone. The private beach is so peaceful, with stunning mountain views in the background. It's an idyllic haven from the popular Porto Giunco beach on the other side. 2) Food quality - very good, all a la carte - cooked to order. Particular high compliments to the pasty chef , who made some of the most beautiful desserts we'd ever seen abroad, consistently the Tiramisu and Creme Brulee were delicious. She was highly pleasant and talked us through every dish, every evening. 3) Plentiful and easy parking facilities 4) Nice swimming pool with good sea views, although not heated (fine from June onwards!) 5) The cocktails and bar services, nice touch to have complimentary bar snacks. However.... 1) The restaurant service was consistently awful. It was shockingly bad most nights. By the end of our "holiday" - our daily routine became a relaxing private beach day, followed by a stressful evening, extended to 2 hours waiting on bad service. Across most nights, we experienced a combination of i) orders not being taken for 30 minutes ii) orders being forgotten, up to 45 minutes iii) items being forgotten such as bread or water. Every evening I had to leave my table and chase staff myself - by far the worst hotel restaurant service. I complained already to the manager (interrupted him watching football...), and he simply gave a 100 EUR discount without asking any information. 2) Fixed guest tables. Most people will be excited by the prospect of sunset dinner views, however if you're assigned a bad table e.g. behind a pillar - you're stuck the entire holiday (we already tried asking to move, but too busy). Hotel suggestion: Do a "first come first serve" system, or rotate guest tables each night. 3) Staff spoke poor English, making it hard to solve problems. For example i) our air conditioning was broken, it requires us to ask 5 times over 2 days to get it fixed. ii) Nobody explained to us the Half Board and what was included. For example at breakfast, it's highly confusing on what eggs you can order, and what costs extra. Overall the biggest problem number (4), the management doesn't care about solving any problems. From TripAdvisor reviews they've had similar problems for years, simply search "eggs" and in June 2015 you find "Eggs can be cooked to order, but this isn't obvious". We had the same problem eight years later! The beautiful hotel setting deserves so much better than the bad management, who could be observed only in their background roles, taking selfies or watching football on television. At no point did they proactively speak to guests, or ask about the terrible restaurant experience. Overall avoid the restaurant, stick to B&B experience, and enjoy the beach. Then you'll appreciate Sardinia at its finest
