Hotel Mallku Cueva

Great situation under a large rock. Bedroom was small but cosy and a really comfy and large bed. Meals were simple but plentiful and the manager was delightful and spoke really good English if you can't manage much Spanish. Really great place to stay in the middle of nowhere!

This beautiful hotel is built on the base of a rock formation in the middle of the desert which makes it very special. The hospitality of Omar and the staff is very welcoming! Rooms are comfy and warm and breakfast is very good! I would always come back to Mallku Cueva!

It is a lovely hotel, very warmly, helpful staff and manager. Good food and breakfeast. Hot showers, even in the morning, WIFI. Highly recommended. We enjoyed the stay and the tour with Cordillera travellers to the salar de uyuni and the routa de lagunas.

Before arriving here, I had read some conflicting reviews. However upon arrival, the hotel was lovely and very much a surprise after the very rough roads we had taken to get here. To get a hotel of such quality in what seemed like the middle of nowhere was amazing. I did talk to the manager about the differing reviews, and he said that he was the new manager and was really striving to help the staff achieve more consistently higher standards. We were very pleased with our stay.

Great Place to rest!!! After a long day Fishing, we had a nice dinner and a great hot shower. The hosts were very helpful to organize a take out breakfast for our early next day adventure. The only improvement I would suggest is to have the heat lower.

We arrived after dark and left in the dark the next morning, so we didn’t spend much time at the hotel. The lock on my room was difficult to open. The fan in my bathroom was hanging down by the electrical cord and was making a grinding noise. If I turned on the bathroom light, I had to listen to it. The room was cold and there was no temperature controls….except the electric blanket. The shower only offered a trickle of hot water- there was no water pressure. It took a while to rinse my hair. The room wasn’t very clean. The WiFi would only work in the restaurant area. Food was nothing to rave about; served buffet style. There isn’t always someone at the front desk. I was glad we only spent one night.

Even if the hotel Is located at an altitude of 4300 meters you will have granted heaters and hot water. Staff is helpful and very kind. Dinner Is simple but tasty, soups are very good so don't esitate to ask for refill. Room was nice, comfortable and Ideal after a tiring day spent on the altopiano.

Cold, no acceptable dinner no acceptable breakfast: the food is not acceptable for an hotel that costs so much compared with the average wage of Bolivians. The building is old and not renewed, bedrooms are old and the bathroom window opens on the corridor of the other rooms

We came hare as a last stop the Bolivian altiplano. From outside it is not so gorgeous but the location is very nice. Inside it’s totally different. The rooms are curved out of caves. There is plenty of warm water, WiFi and other comfort. Food was really locally made and delicious. The staffs are very polite. We would like to stay a day more but we had our flight back to India. I shall remember staying here.
