We booked a room with a private bathroom, but before our arrival, we were told we’d have to share a bathroom unless we paid an extra $80 cash to upgrade. They tried to blame it on *******, but after reading other reviews, it’s clear they’ve done this to many guests. When we arrived, we waited 15 minutes outside for the host, who barely spoke English and was difficult to communicate with. Once he finally let us in, he charged us $105 cash for “taxes.” We were promised a balcony with a canal view — but the room had no view at all. The room itself was tiny, the bed squeaky and uncomfortable, and the pillows and blankets were terrible. To make things worse, there was a fire alarm chirping every 30 seconds due to a dead battery right outside our door. Both mornings we woke up with bug bites, and when we arrived, the AC was turned off, making the room extremely hot. It took all day to cool down since it was on the third floor. Overall, this was one of the worst stays we’ve ever had. Would not recommend.
