By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Marriot. To start things off, I booked a MONTH in advance for work. I get to the hotel, hallway floor is filthy and run down, room is clean and check in was okay. On the first night my bathroom sink clogged and I had no hot water in the shower. I had to have maintenance unclog a nasty hairball from my sink and “fix” the hot water, which was tepid at best, and the heating and AC barely works. When I went to the breakfast bar, everything was absurdly priced, I get this is in a coastal town, but that is just ridiculous. Might as well take a loan out just to feed your family. During my 3 days there initially, these problems persist while I realize every day that all of the amenities either are closed, or don’t work at all. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work, it took 3 days and about 5 calls to front desk and the ISP just to finally connect to Wi-Fi only to realize my cell service is way more reliable. The gym is closed, the ice machine doesn’t work, and the heated pool outside is freezing, cracked, and disgusting. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. Don’t get me started about the constant construction they’re doing which is endless and extremely disruptive to sleep and work. I fly out of state for 4 days and come back around 11:30pm to the ENTIRE HALLWAY to my room closed off by shoddy drywall and a door that says “Do not enter construction zone alarm will sound”. I had NO noticed call, or email stating that my wife, kids, and I would be locked out of our freakin room. The front desk said they had no idea we were even in that room and had no clue what was going on. There is absolutely no excuse as to why simple communication couldn’t have been made and at least this one issue could have been avoided. After spending an hour trying to find out where the manager was so she could unlock the door, the front desk eventually found out that she wouldn’t be in till 9am the next morning and they don’t know where the key is to the door so we can get our things, let alone SLEEP. So my wife found out she could unlock the door and she did it for the staff(wtf right?) and we eventually get in our room. No hot water again and now the heater doesn’t even work and my kids and wife are freezing. So now it’s around 12:30 in the morning and have to get an entire families worth of belongings and work equipment to an entirely different floor in another room where now the AC AGAIN doesn’t work and I don’t have hot water AGAIN! I call front desk to fix, she says she’s going to do something with the boilers and for me to wait a couple minutes, it’s now been almost an hour, I’ve called front desk again, got a completely different person, and she asks “oh you already called? What did she say she was going to do?” WHAT? Why the hell are you asking the customer to communicate these issues?! To top it off, the Wi-Fi still doesn’t work! Hey but at least the second floor has a working ice machine. I will be turning every single person aw
