We’ve stayed before in these safari/glamping tents both at other Discovery Parks and various other parks/independent accommodation providers and let’s be honest, there is never much variance in the interiors. The kitchenettes and bathrooms are always neat and tidy and very pleasantly appointed and you get a comfy bed and just a sufficient number of basic kitchen items. Maybe a couple of bottles of water would be nice? So all okay and we’ve come to understand the prescribed formula for ‘luxury safari texts’ in such settings. Since they really ‘do the trick’ if you aren’t spending much time in your accommodation we are very happy to keep booking them!! Absolutely no complaints about the comfort. We’re just a little surprised Discovery Parks Coffin Bay have only put two of these tents in. We’d have thought there be a demand for more and it seems there is probably enough space for a few more in the park. Note there isn’t any sea glimpse, but we knew that. The park is otherwise PERFECTLY conveniently located, unlike if you’d chosen to book a motel room at the pub - you’d have been in the back blocks!!! This park is in such an easy central spot. What impressed us most was the pricing. $145 per night. Bargain. Pls don’t change!!! Maybe a set of spare towels would be good since the tents aren’t serviced and if they want to be a bit more true to the connotation of ‘glamping’ then perhaps a basic coffee pod machine could be out in - even if they note on the confirmation emails that guests must bring their own pods. That’s no issue! We always carry them with us these days as if you are staying in places with a machine they only ever seem to supply about two pods!! Thanks for a great cost effective stay - rare these days!!

Well Discovery Parks … what a let down … Coffin Bay does not stand up to your normal standard. I find it incredulous that a caravan park has sites that are so uneven, steep and on a slope without any mitigation to make them user friendly/safe. Try a visit to Little Islands at Streaky Bay to see how to set up on a slope … they have it 100% spot on. We spent 4 nights here and had a site that we could not get close to level … not close enough for comfort or safety and really extended our jockey lift beyond maximum. We had site 19 … all the other travellers around us had issues like digging holes in the dirt so they could lower their support legs as their hitches are almost touching the ground … not able to get sites level, pot holes and one after being moved 3 times was asked to move a 4th time just left. There is no site management with visitors entering unchecked … when we asked which site a car belonged to that was blocking a road … the car was not on their list … great security.

Liked coffin bay very much. The staff are lovely and the amenities were excellent. Unfortunately it was a very dusty park with uneven sites. Even with our levellers we were still on a lean. Perhaps if they can level out sites and lay some gravel it will be better. Emus come to say hello and lots of bird life. Just a shame about all the dust.

Not really impressed, dusty and uneven sites. Sites not marked properly and many people having trouble finding their sites. Woman in office very abrupt, answering the phone with WHAT! we are busy you know! Man very helpful and friendly. Amenities big and clean. Yes pet friendly but not worth the hassle

The caravan park is in a good location. Amenities as expected - clean and well maintained. We had a drive through site which was good but unlevel. Oyster HQ across the road has a vending machine for oysters which are fresh and easy to access anytime of the day or night.

Superb position. Directly opposite the star attraction at Coffin Bay... Oyster HQ ( oyster tours and superb restaurant. Unmissable eatery). Superb staff at Caravan Park. Very community conscious ( sausage sizzles for Farm aid charity).

The Deluxe Safari tent was lovely. The photos don't do it justice. Easy walk to Oyster HQ. Beautiful spot. Hope to get back there again soon.

The lead up to and arranging a key due to arriving around 6 was excellent. But on entering our cabin the linen was pilled on the couch. We found the whole cabin to very grubby and when talking to staff the next day, it hadn't been cleaned (an Oversight). the majority of the dirty linen had been collected, new linen left, and then had been forgotten by staff. Thus there was no Toilet paper, no tea, coffee etc. Took me a good hour to clean make beds etc. before we could unpack and eat. I am actually upset that management didn't make contact with us, and no credit, voucher supplied for another stay elsewhere in the future. Have written to them and was supposed to be looked into, and a response provided, but that hasn't happened, which is very disappointing. Thanks for our chance to review our stay. Cheryl May
