Shalom Backpackers Udaipur

This was easily the worst stay I’ve ever had in any hotel. The only thing good about it is its location. The hostel is extremely dirty and maintained very badly. The staff are very unhelpful, rude and uncaring. We stayed in one of the dorm rooms, and food had been spilt on the bed and wall by previous guests which had not been cleaned for some days. We requested the staff to clean the room 3 times but this wasn’t done. A total of 3 bedsheets of 7 had to be changed and the food on the wall was still not cleaned. They did not allow us to change our beds either, and to prevent us from doing so, another staff member slept in our room. One of our group members left their tote bag in the common room by mistake and the staff through it away. This is completely unacceptable and is not even in the terms and conditions which the staff said it was. Third, since people sit and socialise in common spaces of hostels even at night (around 10-10:30pm) the staff should not be allowed to turn the lights off without consulting the guests sitting there or asking them to leave. Instead of being good hosts, in all, it felt almost as though the staff did not want any guests to stay at this hostel, so grant them this wish and don’t stay here.

We booked this hotel because of their big room which can accommodate 3 of us. We requested an ECI but it was denied very rudely. Hotel location was good. Terrace was nice actually great but the one thing they did not have was HOSPITALITY and warmth. I am a hotelier and have stayed in zostels and go stops but this place was a night mare. Very rude staff. They denied me water coz they had to go up and bring water bottle for me so i went outside the hotel and ot was only 11pm. I faced problem with cleanliness and hygiene levels. Please improve. I will not stay again. Thankew

I stayed here for 3 days. It was a lot of fun staying here. Made some new friends here who made this trip more memorable. Thank you very much for such a lovely stay and so ***y memories. Special thanks to Ms Akriti Gupta for ***aging us so well and guiding us.

I am a travel freak having own travel club on FB with 2.9k+ members from more than 30 countries. I have stayed in ***y hostels across India/abroad but first time i have seen "Kids ***aging a hostel. SHALOM: Good hostel at a nice location but ***aged by nonprofessional kids. I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights during my visit to Udaipur. In fact, our group (42 people) stayed there. Everybody was annoyed because of the very poor ***agement of the hostel. Housekeeping is ***aged by kids who hardly bother about your convenience and complaints. Even I had complained about the nonfunctioning of the AC in our dorm but the housekeeping kids ignored my compalint. Even the remotes of all ACs of Shalom Hostel are in captivity of the owner. The receptionist gyl called one AC technician & he guided on call to switch on the AC after removing the face cover of AC blower. That's how the Shalom hostel is ***aged.......by the kids. There are ***y properties in the vicinity and travelers should focus on options seriously.

One of the best Hostels in Udaipur. The property is so beautiful and close to Lake pichola. Their dorm rooms are spacious with comfy beds and private rooms are with balcony and all the amenities of a hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly and Big Thanks to Mr Rohit and Mr Uttam for the assistance. Must try the restaurant on the rooftop with beautiful view. Highly recommended

Worst property, Rat moving on bed and when complained during checkout. Owner said "We have complained to government, They'll work on it." Also they're taking table charge for drinking! Have stayed in N number of hotels no one have taken such charges like that!

The Food here is amazing!! Having an amazing time! The ambiance is as good as the view here!!💘 The place is really clean and very well maintained by the team! Service is good. Visiting here will give you the best food + best view with comfort on top!
