Hôtel d'Orsay

Warm, welcoming & helpful at reception despite being 15 minutes before standard booking-in time. I requested a garden room (as opposed to street facing), which wasn't quite ready but they suggested I could leave my luggage whilst they hoovered & changed a light fitting. The room was small, but adequate for my 2 night stay, the double bed firm but comfortable. The 'buts': in this tech-heavy world more than 2 plug sockets (one of which has a lamp in) on the opposite side of the room to the bed would have been useful, as would a voile/blind at the window - either curtains opened (to full view) or closed whilst changing is not ideal. The bathroom :( I pointed out the problem above the bath to the workman changing the light fitting - he said they were aware of it - there had been a leak in the roof due to rain. That the stained towel etc were still there some 5 hours later (I'm not convinced my room had been hoovered either) is not really acceptable... General impression: the rooms do not live up to the standard of the Reception, the decor is tatty & dated. The d'Orsay needs to up its game & refurbish the rooms - 505 should not be re-used until the problem above & in the bathroom has been rectified at the very least.

I wanted a reasonably priced comfortable hotel near to the train station just for one final night before I had to catch the airport bus. The staff were all very polite, the room was fairly basic but it was clean and had an on suite bathroom. One criticism that I have is at the location and number of sockets to plug in my phone/ alarm and iPad. There was not a plug near to the bed so I had to plug my phone (that is my alarm) in the other side of the room. I find this an issue in a lot of hotels these days. I would stay here again though. There is a beautiful shared garden at the back of the hotel.

This is a lovely little hotel which I try to use every time I visit Toulouse and it’s right opposite the Matabiau rail and bus stations. The staff are really helpful. The rooms are small but are spotless, comfortable and quiet. The lift might be a challenge with lots of luggage though!! Highly recommended.
