This small family-owned and run country hotel in North Suffolk was once a rural public house; today, it has been sympathetically renovated and still retains its historic charm and character. Carefully refurbished and sensitively restored, the Auberge offers charming accommodation with modern comforts and facilities alongside beautifully preserved original features. All of the rooms provide an excellent level of comfort, with exposed wooden beams and rich, stylish furniture. The restaurant still features the original beamed partitions and walls. Once a country pub providing simple food and drink for locals, the restaurant now offers superb food and great wines in cosy, traditional surroundings. Located midway between Ipswich and Norwich, the Auberge is a great base from which to visit and explore Cambridge, Newmarket, the Suffolk and Norfolk coasts and all of East Anglia. The nearby market town of Diss is 6.5 km away.Show More

Yet again The Auberge excels!! It is very difficult to find fault as there is none. The food is excellent, so too the staff. Go there to experience it for yourself.......

A local company recommended the Auberge and although a little off the beaten track for my normal travel, it's well worth the 15-minute deviation. All in all a pleasant experience, clean and spacious, a well-equipped room in a peaceful setting, good food, and an attentive host. Value for money; I would take the extra travel time and miles if working in the area again.

What a find! amazing hotel and restaurant run by a lovely couple who couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is in a lovely setting with lovely grounds & their own cottage garden where they grow a lot of produce used in the kitchen - the room was very comfortable indeed, we booked for 2 nights B&B with an evening meal booked for the Friday evening & it didn't disappoint, beautifully presented mouth watering food which offered a wine flight with each course, extremely knowledgeable. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again and savour the other delights on the menu.

We had a fabulous time. This was a return visit as we had enjoyed it so much in January. Celebrating Mum's 84th birthday, four family members stayed for one night in 3 rooms. Lovely comfortable beds. Delightful décor in all the rooms. The food was absolutely delicious. The two men enjoyed the crab filled ravioli with Lobster bisque and samphire as a starter. The Trio of Pork was chosen for the main course by 3 of us. A very good choice! My Coconut and Kiwi Cheesecake was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was so tasty and filling. We didn't need to eat again until the evening. We will be back!

Our third stay at the lovely Auberge , lovely comfy rooms with gorgeous view of gardens. Our meal was lovely with the most attentive staff breakfast was equally as good , again served by Jake who is so attentive and friendly. We look forward to coming back again soon

The duvet was heavy and so warm, the room with its four poster bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee makings in the room as well as instant an espresso was on the side. We had our evening meal in the restaurant was wonderful, the al a cart menu was fabulous.

We had 3 rooms and all of them were very comfortable and cosy. The owners are really passionate about the place having recently taken over. The food was really 2 rosette standard ... so very good, but what really sets this place apart is how the owners put so much into making sure your stay is perfect. They looked after our norfolk terrier for an afternoon, and every meal including breakfast was top notch. Jake, the owner, really knows his wine too... so this was a great opportunity to talk wine and try some new stunning wines. We'll definitely be back.
