I liked the approach the owners have focused on: I can be on my own, there is automatic check-in, a quiet and peaceful place. Had very good rest and slept well. The room was warm, there was a private bathroom in mine. In the house there are also attic rooms, which are on the upper floor, there is a shared shower, which was clean and nice. We stayed with 2 families, so could experience different room types. I liked the feeling, that it is not just a “house to rent”, but it tells a story! the soul has been put into it. Recommend!

The house is so cute and cozy with a lovely garden which is great place to rest, I had a beautiful attic room it is pretty comfortable. Communication with owners is super, they are friendly and responsive.

The room was not cleaned from the previuous tenant. It took me a few days to cleant the floors and the dust. The owner did not care about this, since I was gonna stay for longer not just a weekend or a few days. All of the focus was on the upstairs rooms where the tourists were staying. In my short stay since the landlord visited the house briefly the houseguests asked me many times for different things for example toilet paper. Although the owner supposedly cleaned all the rooms and prepared for the weekend guests. There were many problems, but mainly the house is not managed well. The owner does not take responsibility for the unproffesional managment and just takes money from people on technicalities or scams tourists. I was billed with breaking a lot of stuff which was already broken ... Advise highly to stay from this house.

A nice house where you feel that time has stopped and everything is real and it is combined with a romantic interior design. You can feel that the whole concept is environmentally friendly in depth, not greenwashing. They don't even emphasize it in any way, but anyone who knows the field will understand. And would emphasize the wonderful selection of tea, which is usually a problem in places to stay.” Juta, Estonia

Horrible place, Room wasn't quite like the images.(old, dirty,,stinky)There is no car parking, You have to park your car on busy street. We could not find any common agreement with the Marta owner and lost all money Stay away from there or you will get bedbugs

Marta Guesthouse is a fabulous and beautiful place. I really recommend it. I was organising a wedding party for my friend at Marta Gueshouse's garden and was amazed how helpful and professional the staff members were - they definitely went for 'an extra mile' for the client - they helped me with every possible task (even with the tasks that they did not need to do such as catering and cleaning). I was so amazed by their professionalism. If you are looking for a cozy place in Tallinn where to stay overnight, or you need to organise a garden party - make sure you choose Marta Guesthouse! Staff seemed friendly and communication was easy beforehand with e-mail. Location close to city centre and public transportation was a plus. But the accommodation itself was disappointment. I understand the house is old and has it character but I got some issued with throat soreness which went off when got back home. So don't risk your health, theres probably mold. Our room wasn't clean (blood on the wall, bedlinen were ripped off). Own private toilet was a joke. Just a wooden door which left huge hole when you tried to close it, so no privacy at all. Nothing to clean the shower floor either. The place was tried to fix with nice decorations and retro stuff, which doesn't really help the bigger problems. With these prices I can't recommend

Marta Guesthouse and its garden are a real treasure in a part of Tallinn where you wouldn’t expect an oasis of tranquility. Hidden in a small side street, the traditional wooden house is mostly sheltered from the city noises while at the same time, the guesthouse is in walking distance to public transport that will get you into the buzzy city centre in just a few minutes. Coming back from the city, you can sit in one of the garden chairs and end the day listening to the birds, or with a good read. (As in any old house, there are in fact books all over the place!) Unfortunately, breakfast generally wasn’t offered during our stay in August 2021, which we only learned a few days before our arrival. Despite the owner’s various suggestions of alternatives, we must admit there really isn’t any decent culinary infrastructure in the close vicinity of Marta Guesthouse which is mostly a residential area. Inside the house, one could use a common fridge, microwave and water boiler, but the place clearly isn’t laid out for preparing your own meals. During our four nights at Marta Guesthouse as a family of three, we got the impression that the owner of the place has, over the years, indeed put a lot of love and hard work into retaining the authentic atmosphere of the traditional Estonian wooden house while at the same time giving it a modern-day boho appearance. The individual rooms are equipped with vintage furniture, and the entire premises bear the traces of long-forgotten times. Especially the “attic chambres“ - in all their simplicity - retain the cozy charm of an Estonian log house. Most of the rooms share a small shower and toilet (which was fine for us - despite the stiff price nonetheless). Our double room in the basement had its individual build-in shower/toilet partition, though. Unfortunately, we only met the owner the night before we left. Before that, she would mostly text us promptly and very friendly whenever we got a question, but of course, communication with your host is much easier face-to-face, particularly if you just need a second role of toilet paper... We felt a slight irritation upon our first day when nobody was around when we arrived and also the beautiful garden (where we then waited around for an hour) seemed quite deserted: the cafe sign was put down in the lawn - the garden chairs were quite dirty as if they hadn’t been used for weeks. What added to our irritation was the many little things that made us conclude Marta Guesthouse had been somewhat neglected in recent times, and not just because of COVID: the main door that couldn’t be shut properly for the entire time (we were supposed to just leave it open - one time we locked ourselves in!), the missing top window pane in our basement room, other guests who (right in front of that window) kept calling the host in the middle of the night to find out how to get into the house and where to find their booked rooms (and who twice ended up bolting into our room instead).
