The Rainbow Hotel is located very centrally in Taiyuan and I enjoyed my stay there. I went for a weekend trip in Taiyuan and this hotel was good for my budget and location preference. Great morning walk along the bridge and river too. The hallway was a little noisy because there was a wedding party during the whole weekend, so I could hear too many people talking throughout the day and night, but I guess that was just my bad luck. Breakfast buffet was nice also and staff was helpful.

Vienna International Hotel is super close to the GAO TIE station. You can just take the back route on the first floor and it takes a very short walk to get me to the station. Lobby looks luxurious and staff are friendly. They upgraded to a non-smoking floor however the first room was still smelling smoky. They changed room and I’m happy it’s a REAL non-smoking. Breakfast is good with many things. Highly recommend it.
