The Grand Apartments

We stayed in the 3 level penthouse so the views were spectacular. The place was very modern and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious. The pool was well kept and very refreshing. The penthouse was huge, spanning 3 floors with large spaces but the living area was sorely lacking in furniture. Although we were only 2 people, with 3 guests for one night, the penthouse can sleep 6 to 8 people, however the ground floor where the kitchen and living area is situated, there is only a 3 seater couch with no coffee table. There is also no dining room table. The patio furniture on this floor is also sub standard. There is nowhere to entertain on this level. If you want to entertain you are expected to trek up 2 floors to the roof which includes a dining room table, loungers, spa and BBQ. Unfortunately there is no kitchen on the 3rd floor which you would expect to accompany the BBQ area of a penthouse, especially as it is a long walk with many stairs from the kitchen on the lower floor. Overall it is a great apartment and if it had more furniture I would have provided an 'Excellent' review.

Private apartment. It has everything. Grey like it. The place is very central and the transportation is convenient. It's the sister building of Hilton. I knew it, and I lived there for a month ^_^
Paradise Resort Gold Coast

So, it’s school holidays, and you want to have a holiday, but still entertain your kids, and have a break. Paradise resort is the place to do all of this. It is Australia’s only family resort that has a water park, ice rink and kids club on site. It’s located in Surfers Paradise, where you can walk to the main ***** of shops / Cavill Ave in under 10 mins. Paradise Resort Gold Coast was recently voted Australia’s Best Family Resort for the 10th year in a row and we can understand why. There are two water parks (for kids over and under 5), that have a range of slides that have water spraying during the day. There’s also an outdoor heated pool and spa. Parents can relax on the deck chairs, order food and drinks via the QR and have it all whilst supervising kids. An ice-skating rink for families to use and a and adventure playground for the little kids (soft play one inside and outdoor park). They’ve also got arcade games to play, and a pamper parlour for kids to get braids and other hairstyles. Daily entertainment program with outdoor movies on the big screen, dress ups, kahoot trivia and also activities you can pay a little extra for like pizza making, cake decorating and teddy bear making. Each day you can check out the schedule on their screens around site. Parents can get some reprieve with the supervised kids' club. From 10-2, 3-6 or even in the evenings, you can leave your kid in the nursery (0-2) or kids club (from years) for only $40 where they are cared for with great resources and planned activities as well as free play. When staying in the resort, you are given 1 free session and a discount for 50% off your second visit. This is absolutely the best value, and staff there were great, we met Heather and Eden. There’s an on-site bar with plenty of beer wine and cocktails, a couple of dining outlets and also buffet breakfast. The buffet is continental and servers fill your plates at request, which I think is smart, for the kids would be making a heck of a mess. For your stay, there’s a range of hotel style accommodation including resort rooms, superior rooms and some with aqua view (though advise against this as it could potentially be noisy facing the pools! There’s also family rooms and interconnecting rooms to cater for large families as well as Bunkhouse rooms. Room amenities include wifi, air-conditioning, hairdryers, television, tea and coffee making facilities and daily housekeeping   Other things of note is a cardio gym for adults, a laundry (you can use with coins or card) and a convenience store for all your needs. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Hats off to the lovely lady who cleaned up after my son threw his Rice Bubbles on floor. With no vacuum allowed in the dining hall, she picked them all up! A recommended stay for families and parents who want a bit of a break!

Stayed for 6 nights. View was nice and location was excellent, light rail was right next to hotel. Breakfast was great as well. But housekeeping was inefficient, had to call twice or even three times to get extra amenities like towels or toothbrushes to get delivered. Overall nice stay though

After booking a room for 1 night initially, we made a booking for an additional night both via Expedia. The recent reviews on here had me worried as they were much more positive when I made and paid for the booking. Parking - currently free but the hotel provide no detailed instructions on booking etc so I can see why people get frustrated. Thankfully a review on here gave us some tips to make our arrival smooth. I would recommend parking in tower 1 on levels 3, 3M or 4. These floors provide direct lift access to the hotel. Look for gold lifts - these indicate your attached to the hotel. Check in - the girl checking us on (Sara I think) was nice but the hotels booking system didn’t link that there were 2 separate bookings for the same person. The hotel didn’t offer us the lower standard room for the 2 nights so that we didn’t have to move. We opted to pay an additional $60 to stay in the better room for the 2 nights. Pool - is as nice as the photos although some of the cabana cushions are filthy. It is mildly heated and there were no towels, only the ones provided in your room. After house keeping we had 2 taken and only 1 replaced which made it hard to use the pool again. Food - we used Uber eats one night and ate at Harvest Buffet in the ****** on the other. The Harvest Buffet was good. We didn’t eat breakfasts at the hotel. Room - the lounge needs to go, there is no room for it and an additional luggage rack would be more practical as storage is lacking. The room would benefit from a spare pillow and blanket like nearly every other hotel we have stayed in. There are no robes or slippers provided. Gym - the gym was ok however the cable machine was broken, there were no kettlebells or spin bike. Access is via the ****** and in to another lift. Check out - we didn’t bother returning to reception, at 8am we were woken by a drill in the adjoining room/wall to us. Very unpleasant when you have an 11am check out. If we were told about the short maintenance work we wouldn’t have minded but we expect more of a hotel that is part of the Star. Would we stay again? No, it’s not the level we have come to expect as guests of the Star in Sydney.

Great location, pool has a bar and table service, staff were friendly and accommodating. Wasn't advised that parking needed to be pre-booked so we weren't able to get a carpark at the hotel. Luckily Chevron Renaissance has affordable parking and is only across the road (best parking rates are available for when you enter after 12pm).
