Hotels near Wat Sunthon Niwas in Surat Thani

Good room and good location. I can get on a bus from Surat Thani railway station, and arrive at B2 hotel nearing a bus stop.

We just stayed here a night to move from the airport to Khao Sok National Park. It worked out fine. Clean and friendly staff. The location wasn’t great. Limited food options near by and most things are across the street which is a busy road and no cross walk near by.

Come relax here. You'll get a bit of a headache when checking in. After that, you don't have to think too much. Eat and travel with peace of mind. Seafood is good. It's just that the taste of most food tends to be sweet. You have to choose the menu carefully.

The room was clean, the view was beautiful, the breakfast buffet was very good, but nothing special. Quiet and beautiful swimming pool during the day (there are many Thais after 4 pm); opposite the Yichu Lotus (5 minutes walk), very close to the city center shopping mall, and there are shuttle buses! When going out, don't take the blue tucktuck taxi in front of the hotel (they are special pits), if you want to go to the city center during the day. Just wait at the bus stop in front of the hotel... Tickets are about 10 to 20 baht, depending on the number of stops.

Considered a hotel that has an affordable price in Surat Thani province Located in Makham Tia Subdistrict. Near government offices, Central Hospital, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds are very large, can sleep 3 people comfortably. Bathroom amenities are normal, shampoo, soap, bathroom separates dry and wet zones well. There is a service zone, bread, coffee, Ovaltine all the time, self service, care, reception OK, smiling and cheerful, there is free WIFI (strong), there is a parking lot. extensive all the way in front and behind the hotel

We had to spend just one night before taking the ferry at good time the next morning and we chose this hotel . Super !!! Not disappointed !!! The hotel is very well placed ! The hotel is very clean and very clean. In the room, the bed is especially big, you can even sleep at 4 so the bed is large, everything is functional, a large office full of electrical takes, a beautiful shower, even the shampoo and the shower freezing feel good, everything is perfect. The only small blame: a big hiding cord that separates the room from the shower room, and toilets...a little disturbing for the toilets... and the white plastic shower cord that denotes with the super decor of the room... but sincerely for the The staff is really adorable. If I go back to Suratthani, I will go back without hesitate to this hotel !!! It's an exceptional price quality ratio!! 👍🏼 Bravo for deco !!! Bravo for everything !!! 👍🏼

Hubby and I stopped in Surathani in transit to our next destination. 2 nights which was enough for us to rest after a day travelling and to check out this famous transit point on our way yo Railay. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was a street back off the the Ta Pi River Esplanade and a short walk from our bus drop off (Phan theep Transfers) arriving from Koh Tao (we purchased a ferry and minivan combo ticket. Excellent option. We try to opt for easy and not expensive, easy first preference). Hotel is on a corner and has artificial grass in front of hotel entrance. You can't miss it. Hotel is well presented, clean, staff friendly, good sized room and hot water. The bed was a little hard, lets say a coin will probably bounce off it easily, but to our surprise, even though the mattress and pillows were firm, we didn't wake up with a sore back, so pretty much ok. We were on the 4th floor and hardly any noise from traffic below even with all the traffic noise. It was a Thai public holiday as they were celebrating the anniversary of the late kings death( 13th October). Colourful and ornated floats along the Esplanade and down the main street of the hotel. The floats were spectacular with monks showering everyone with water blessings. Heaps of food stalls. The air-conditioning was a pain, as with many in Resorts and hotels. For some reason, they dont work according to the temp setting and fan speed. Turned up to 27 degrees on lowest fan setting and it was still cold in the room. If you turned it off, it too hot. We slept with heads at foot of bed so the cold air didn't hit our face. What do you do, its sane same mostly everywhere. Unfortunately no kettle and tea/coffee facility in room. They do have this available in lobby from 5 to 10am only for free. There are coffee shops outside hotel though especially Mary's Cafe. Another disappointment for us, cause we are veggos and western, they don't provide breakfast and we couldn't find Western food that suited us non meat and Asian palette. Plenty of Thai food but we didnt like that for breaky. We walked over to the otherside of the river to their sister hotel CBD Hotel 2, as they served breaky so we purchased a buffet style for 150 baht each. You can opt to stay here also if you wish. Its right on the river and about 15 minute walk. Wasnt an issue walking there because on the way stopped of at the City Shrine and walked around Koh Lamphu Park ( a health park and well worth a visit. Its an island accessible by bridge. Views of the River also. We are early birds so plenty of time before breaky). Fruit for lunch was enough but there is a little Thai Vegan restaurant (another lucky find. Turn left exiting the hotel and down that road opposite the fire station). But only open to about 1pm we think. There is another hotel that includes breakfast near the River on and sane side as CBD hotel called Harbour Front but no idea what the rooms are like or reviews. We chose CBD due to the reviews

I'm sure at one time this was a four-star hotel. The decor is lovely, the rooms are neat and clean, the beds are very good but the amenities are lacking. the rooms provide a pot to make hot water and coffee cups to go with it but no coffee or tea is available. The only soap for a shower were the small standard bars of soap no body wash or gel as is customary here. There was shampoo however. As we walked about last night we noticed that there was a large restaurant and entertainment venue along the river but it looked like it had been closed for many months. Breakfast this morning was the worst that I have had in Thailand. We had to select from a menu when we came in yesterday and I expected to go down to a restaurant and eat but it was delivered this morning to our door and all of the food was cold, especially the eggs which I abhor. I don't remember the price difference between a room with or without breakfast or even if there was a price difference but this was a poor attempt at any kind of breakfast. I am very disappointed. Lastly, I will say that the views are very nice and we are on the highest floor, the sixth floor period with a view of the river and downtown Surat Thani.

Very, very comfy beds!! Convenient location, a cheap stay with breakfast included. Very simple but sufficient breakfast next door. Elevator available, clean and spacious room. Good bathroom. Free parking. No kettle or safe deposit box in the room. Only 2 paper cups to drink from, they get soggy. At night it's a bit of a zoo outside, howling dogs, fighting cats and a very active bird population early in the morning 😅 City noises.... Staff isn't overly friendly but not rude either. Not much English spoken.

The receptionist is good, the room is clean, suitable for the price booked. But the air conditioner in the room is not cold at all, very old.
