I have spent decades travelling for work and the Majapahit is now my favourite hotel on earth. It is like staying in the pages of a history book. My beautiful king suite room opened onto the swimming pool and my only regret is not having more time to stay there. Everything about this hotel is classy, from the fantastically friendly general manager, through the fabulously helpful and kind staff, to the facilities such as the great restaurant (breakfast is never to be missed!), rocking pub and beautiful swimming pool area. The hotel is also in a very good downtown location and near the big shopping malls if that is your thing. To travel to Surabaya and not stay in the Majapahit, would not only be a missed opportunity, it would be a crime against future memories. I cannot wait to get back there.

Good and satisfied stay. What can I say more are impressive lobby greeting the guests on entry, efficient and fast check-in and check-out even the manager loyalty came to approach me ask how my stay experience (thank you Mr. Ismael), nice executive lounge with superb staff service (thanks to Mr. Bagus, if I remember his name), in room the noise insulation from outside very effective, comfy bed and pillows, good hotel design, the room and the facilities. Nestled in an enviable location, this hotel has rightfully earned its popularity among locals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a team of amiable staff who extended a warm welcome. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and we highly recommend trying the in-house nasi goreng. The spacious rooms, while lacking in some amenities, were otherwise comfortable. However, we did notice a slight odor of dampness and dust that was slightly unpleasant. One minor quibble we had was with the lighting - the dimming lights were not strong enough to provide sufficient illumination, especially after sunset. Additionally, we were disappointed to find only one pair of slippers provided in the room despite booking for two guests in each of our two rooms. Was this a cost-cutting measure? Our biggest issue arose when we arranged for the hotel's car service to take us to the airport upon departure. The driver first dropped off our parents at the domestic terminal, but it wasn't until later that he informed us of an additional charge to take us to the international terminal - despite the short distance between them. We had already paid a premium for the hotel's chartered car service, and it was disappointing that the driver did not disclose this additional charge upfront. While we understand the importance of profit margins, we believe it's essential to prioritize transparency and honesty with guests. Overall, this hotel was a decent choice for the price we paid. Despite the minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

We hesitated at first to stay in this hotel. It's an old hotel (started to be built in 1979) and the building's exterior looks so shabby. The hotel was affected by Covid-19, too, so we know to not set the bar too high for this hotel. Well, when we arrived at the lobby, we could really see the 90's vibes, glamorous hotel at that time. Check in was easy and fast, and surprisingly there were still so many employees working for this hotel. This place was more alive than I thought it would be. The room was good, not exquisite but I can see that it was designed well and was very nice initially. The AC worked well, hot water and water pressure were nice, but the bathroom door was jammed. And the bathtub had black stains (or maybe chipped). The sheets, blanket, and towel all had some stains but I'm sure they were all washed clean. The pillow smelled bad, like musty or damp, but we asked to be replaced and got the fresh ones. Amenities were just okay. No slippers, soap and shampoo were very standard, but they provided a safe deposit box, electric kettle, and coffee/tea. The view outside was amazing, we could see the heart of Surabaya from above, sitting in the japanese-styled chairs. Bed was nice, too. We slept soundly. Breakfast was great, surprisingly! We expected nothing, but turned out there were many varieties of the food, and they were all pretty good. From western to Indonesian, all great. I was happy to see all the employees there, like things are finally getting normal again. The visitors were a lot, too. I'm so relieved that they were doing great ❤️

This new hotel is located on heart of Surabaya city. The hotel is clean, comfort and the hotel staffs is really friendly and helpful. There's a lot of 24hours fastfood chain restaurants, street food vendors and convinience stores around the hotel. It takes only 5 minutes walk to TUNJUNGAN PLAZA (one of the biggest mall in Surabaya) The room is not so spacious but it clean and comfort. Luckily, I got room on 16th floor, so it has a beautiful cityscape of Surabaya too. The food was okey, breakfast buffet has a several choices of local food. And the restaurant looks modern and cozy enough. You will get a lot of smiles from the hotel staffs while you stay. And they very helpful too. And sure, I will be back to this hotel.

Stayed in one of their deluxe rooms (one level above standard) and it was worth the little extra money. My room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly quiet although the hotel was facing a busy street. Options for breakfast were good and best of all, the front desk staffs were friendly and helpful. It’s located about 5 min by car from Tunjungan Plaza but the price is much cheaper than the hotels in TP area. Can be a good option if you want to stay in the center of the city but with lower budget.

I was worried when I booked this hotel because the price was so low... I accidentally thought the total price was just the rate for 1 night, then realized it was for 3 nights! I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and new it is. The dinner buffet was tasty and the staff are all very friendly, helpful, and kind. The only issue for me, was that it's not close to any shops, restaurants, or bars, but we all took Grab cars everywhere so it wasn't inconvenient as it's so hot that we didn't want to walk outside anyways. I've stayed at other places before close to a mall, but they were old and even the 5-star hotels had cracked caulk, dirty floors, and black mildew in the bathrooms. I like that this place is clean and the floors are not carpet. Plus, the price for the food in the restaurant is not much more expensive than the nice restaurants in and around the malls.

I stayed here for the first time, the first impression of the reception was quite meticulous. The check-in time only takes 5 minutes, the room is large and clean, there is a deposit box, 2 free bottles of drinking water, toilets, wardrobe, bright lights. It's strange that the elevator is between floors, so if we get a room on the first floor we don't need to take the elevator, because we have to go up the stairs again, so on the next floor. In the room there are snacks, additional mineral water at a price, but the price is not far from the supermarket, reasonable price for the size of the hotel. Breakfast has 3 types of menus and beef sauce that we have to order (free). Breakfast opens from 1:00 to 2am.

I found this hotel to be great for a budget traveler like me. I booked it through agoda.com for a discounted price. I stayed two nights which was a good experience. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is strategic because I could get access to public transportation right in front and to food vendors when I was hungry. The facilities like lifts, toilets, etc in the hotel are excellent. Room's space is good and comfortable. The only non-positive comments from me are: no breakfast included because of the discounted price. I had to pay extra Rp50,000 for a small plate of fried rice and two slices of bread and a cup of coffee. I could get better offer with that 50,000 outside the hotel. Anyway, no big deal. I can further say that for one person only. I also saw women's hair underneath the bed. I guess they have not cleaned the room properly yet. Overall, the experience is good. I still recommend this hotel to other travelers.

I know this hotel is quite old but classic and and worth the price. The room is very wide, i like that so much. Bcause nowdays all new hotels is just standart and to small like studio type. This hotel is family friendly, because of the wide room, and al the facility that all we needed. Not that high but the view from the room is still good. Surabayaaaa what else you can see than cityview? Haha. Anyway, very recommended for those who like wide room and near from mall, foodcenter, and all you need.
