B&B HOTEL Stuttgart-Neckarhafen

We went to see our old friends in Stuttgart-Wangen for the first time in two years (pandemics and politicians being what they are), and we elected to stay in the new Hotel BnB there. In the old days, this was the site of the Stuttgart-Wangen Autohof, a truck stop/fuel/hotel site, but it's been re-developed. Half of the site has become the BnB, a brand new bed&breakfast hotel. It's important to retain that idea, because they don't do anything else. The place is well-built, provides a most serviceable breakfast, highly adequate bedding and accommodation, but that's all it does. It provides wifi and cell coverage, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and controllable air-conditioning in a small space, but no room service or other meals. The reception will rustle up a pizza or similar if asked, and you can get a beer or soft drink from the vending machine. That's what they do. It's a comfortable place; bear in mind that the night-time temperatures were in the mid-20s C, daytime up to 36C, that air-con unit was worth it's weight in gold. In reality, if you want more catering to take back to your room, investigate the RAN petrol station next door. Their drink selection dwarfs my local supermarket, they have a bread baking setup for all sorts of breads, and you can live well for not much money. The thing that made this a complete, if simple, experience was the attitude of the staff there. Each one was enthusiastic and helpful, even when I came up with a wifi/macBook issue. The lead assistant tried and failed, the desk manager tried and escalated to his ISP, who failed. FWIW, I could take the thing (a M1 MB Air) down the road to my friend's wifi and all worked. The desk manager came in on a Saturday morning with his 4-yr old to try to sort things out, and I took mercy on him after an hour of much conversation with the ISP to state that I was on holiday and really didn't need laptop wifi in the hotel that badly (iOS and Android both worked perfectly). She shows much promise in UK political terms, as she learns her English from Peppa Pig, as does our Prime Minister Johnson. They were all helpful, all friendly, even after the wifi experience, and we'll definitely be back there.

There is a parking lot, suitable for driving friends, breakfast is enough for me, the hotel is very good, the room is very clean, the fly in the ointment is that if there is a quiet room in the quiet room, fortunately the foreigners are very light.

We did a pit stop here to take kids to Mercedes’ museum. It was not a big event weekend so the area was really dead. Hotel reception was friendly but only 1 person manning the desk so it always seemed busy with queues. Bathrooms are functional and clean but given 4 people were staying in the room, body wash and loo roll ran out as they don’t fully replenish items. I understand the whole green thing but at least put enough toiletries in there. Simple little things like this should not require us to have to chase and ask the staff for these. Especially for a Hilton brand. The other odd thing is the toilet has its own room at the hotel room entrance. That’s great, but there is no sink. You have to walk around the whole room to get to the bathroom to wash your hands. We also had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. It charges silly money for every item on your plate. Literally a single portion of salmon is 15 euros (maybe 150g) with nothing else on the plate. If you want a side, you have to pay for that. Same with the schnitzel. Every single item you add to your plate is an additional cost. Staff was fine but the pricing system was ludicrous. We stupidly followed the tripadvisor reviews for the restaurant and the place was pretty dead. We should have eaten at the sports bar outside which was outdoors and has more ambience for possibly the same level of food. Who knows. The only redeeming feature is we got some discount back from this restaurant because of our club member status. We only stayed here for one night so it was sufficient as a clean functional hotel.

I was service for 3 nights at Wangener Landhaus Aparthotel. Unfortunately, at the check-in I was not very friendly welcome. The service at breakfast was top - here super friendly and pre-coming staff! The breakfast selection was also very good. My room was clean and conveniently furnished. That was fit. It was offered free W-Lan - but the W-Lan was not very stable ( hardly to use in my room). The location of the hotel is good. Parking is available for free enough. The S/metro is available to reach the city centre of Stuttgart in about 15 minutes.

Staying during the epidemic, the price is unbelievably low, almost 20 euros a night. The hotel is very close to the main fire, but it is not suitable due to the slope. It is still necessary to take a few bus stops. Because there were not many people staying, I was directly given a large room with a balcony. The sanitary condition is good, but the room facilities are a bit old. I will choose if necessary in the future.
