The location was good with good restaurants near by. The room was neat and clean, but was so compact. The breakfast was nice, but there wasn't much option, but good for the price.

The property is a very old coaching inn. It was spotlessly clean but the shower was faulty and we were given 1 bath towel for 2 people. We felt the plinth for the shower stuck out dangerously for when using the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Good value for money.

Firstly we couldn't find the carpark. Unless you know where you are going it is extremely difficult to find as it is not signposted. When we checked in we found out that there is a nightclub in the pub below between 10pm-3am on a Friday & Saturday night. There was nothing in the description that said this when we were booking. The music itself was fine and we were able to sleep as we were away from the actual dance area. However, we were woken at about half 3 with staff banging the doors closed. Not once but twice. This was on both nights. When going upstairs one of the bits of carpet had come off the stairs & was a huge trip hazard because the steps are narrow in depth. The room itself & ensuite were decorated nicely. It was very compact but was enough for what we needed for the weekend. However, it was boiling. The towel rail in the ensuite was permanently on & even when we turned it to * it still kept pumping out heat. We got the window open once with great difficulty. When we tried again the next morning it just wouldn't budge. The ensuite is designed beautifully but is to be honest a bit of a death trap. When the shower is on water goes every where. It is tiled floor & even with the shower mat it did little then become absolutely drenched. The breakfast was lovely but we found it difficult to have to choose the night before. We also had to give a time between 9 & 10am for when we wanted breakfast. We found this odd. Has good potential but not likely to stay again.

Staff here could not be more friendly or welcoming. Breakfast was great too, our room was on the 2nd floor so minimal impact from nightclub noise! So good we booked to stay again next month.

This establishment is truly shocking. The staff are rude, offensive and disrespectful. We were attending a family event in a private function room but met in the bar and bought drinks before heading up to our party. We had the misfortune to be served by teenagers who clearly had had no training in customer service or indeed manners. In our family group of around 20 people we had a couple of 18-20 year olds (who frankly appeared older than the ‘staff’) and whilst we were catching up in the bar before heading upstairs to the private function those ‘staff’ aggressively confronted our family group asking for ID. As we were attending a family party and it had not occurred to us that ID would be required. And although they were old enough to enjoy their drinks we accepted that (however bizarre it seemed) they would not drink their glasses of wine. However I would not be bothering to write this had the ‘staff’ not continued to bother us throughout the evening. Frankly the wine on offer was so abysmal that it really was no hardship to drink water or soft drinks anyway. This is truly an awful establishment and perhaps those in charge should think about employing adults who have some ability to exercise some judgment rather than teenagers who are simply rude and offensive. Avoid if possible…

avoid this place. I went there with my partner and our children to have an evening meal. We sat down in the bar's dining area and were completely ignored (probably due to the customers and bar staff watching the football). After 15 minutes of being ignored we duly left the premises. (that's over £100.00 we would have spend). Two weeks later I got a parking fine for £100.00. I contested and went in to see the manageress who did nothing about it. Would not go near this place again. An absolute disgrace to the area I grew up in.

Stayed one night in a superior double and i cannot fault the cleanliness and facilities of the room. I was Warned that the bar stayed open to early hours and i didnt hear anything when in my room. The breakfast was ordered the night before and was excellent. All staff happy to help and polite.
