The hotel has changed hands and it seems like the new team in place have made a massive difference. The restaurant is not yet open, but I was informed that there are plans to open up the facility. Great friendly welcome, lovely room and very friendly staff. I had a lovely stay. Emma

We really made a bad mistake when desperatley we looked online for a hotel last minute in Stratford upon avon so we chose The Villare as it was previously the Grosvenor Hotel that we had previously stayed at a couple of years ago which was great but is now The Villare I really think this hotel is not ready for visitors there is no Restaurant open and no bar open and the room and bed were ok but no staff about. The room looked like it had been refurbished apart from bathroom which was poor the heated towel rail wasn't even connected up the hot and cold tap was in poor condition and no bottled water in room as specified at the window of room was a poor excuse for net curtain and not fitted up to window properly. Considering the facilities which were none I think £150 for the 2 nights was overpriced and seeing fire doors left open all night and empty room windows left open security of hotel was nil. I really think this hotel is not ready for guest and especially there precious money.

Arrived at hotel late due to motorway closures, the promised 24 hour room service was non existent not even a cup of tea. Reception guy was rude and unhelpful. He reluctantly took our bags to our room as we struggled to keep up with him. Room was quite small and towels had stains on. Toilet looked dirty (I don’t want to even think what was on the lid) in the morning we asked for a later checkout as we had arrived so late and we’re exhausted, it was grudgingly given. Tried to ring room service but no answer, tried to ring reception but no answer so ended up ringing from my mobile the main hotel number. Ordered a clean towel and tea for two, towel arrived and we were given a few teabags, not quite what we wanted! Check out the man on reception could not give two hoots about our complaints. All in all a horrible experience that really tainted our trip. I would advise anyone against staying here and do what I wished I’d done and just book into the premier inn.

We booked the hotel late at night whilst travelling on the premise they offered 24 hour room service as we hadn’t eaten for 13 hours. Long story short they do not even provide so much as a cup of tea on room service, let alone any food. Anyways, on arrival we were met with a very rude member of staff who reluctantly checked us in before proceeding to storm off to take us to our rooms, not even smiling or saying a single word. All the staff we encountered were just as rude and unhelpful, with most barely saying two words to us. That’s if you can get a hold of the staff at all, you’re lucky if they pick up the phone or if you can find anyone wondering around the maze of a hotel. As for the room, there was what I can only assume to be faecal matter on the loo seat, stains on the towels and just a general lack of cleanliness. Check out is 11am and there’s not much wiggle room on that, no late check out and you will find the staff will let themselves into your room to start cleaning before you’ve even left. Additionally, it is not disability friendly, especially if you require a wheelchair, lots of stairs with no lifts and ramps. There’s a premier inn next door that I’m sure will offer much better service and at half the price, go there. Room was £106 but worth £6!

To put in simple terms for all future traveling thinking of booking a stay here DON’T. This hotel (not even sure the word hotel should be used to describe this property) shouldn’t actually be allowed to operate, it’s simply not ready to accept guests. Checked in after 6:20pm tonight, had to rush as restaurant reservation booked across town for 7pm. On return to the hotel we checked into room 162 it was filthy the cobwebs looked liked they’d been there years. The curtain was hanging off the window (not in a good way), bedsides lights were missing from beside the bed, the room was like a sauna, no aircon and the fan didn’t work. Went to reception had to wander around calling out for someone to come, after 10/15 mins a gentleman turned up and was very dismissive, saying he was only receptionist, clearly he’d heard all the complaints many times before. We’re here two nights will try get a refund tomorrow morning for our second night as no way can I stay longer. My biggest concern is health & safety, some corridors we walked through had no lighting, downstairs doors were open anyone could wander, it’s kinda scary being here. Rang reception twice and no one’s answering the call keeps disconnecting, like I say it’s worrying. Best to book elsewhere noway can any other hotel be worse than this. Bedside lights were missing
