Well our weekend away has been ruined Booked a long weekend at Stockport South earlier in the year. Our plan was to attend the Eagles concert in the CO OP at Manchester. We chose to stay here in order to have a couple,of restful days before and after the concert. We caught an early train and paid to book in early. We planned to unpack take lunch at the restaurant then rest in the afternoon and dinner at the restaurant. Fridays plan to go into Manchester and return for dinner in the restaurant, Saturday go into Manchester for the concert. Sunday restful day with lunch ready for our return journey Monday morning. My husband is 67 and has mobility problems I am a registered disabled person with spinal, leg and feet issues. On arrival and booking in we were informed that there was no restaurant and no bar. Your receptionist was flippant and informed us there were plenty of restaurants to eat around the hotel. So we left to look and there was no restaurants to eat. We ended up having to go into town which is a £14 taxi fare. We returned to the hotel exhausted and in extreme pain. So at this moment in time we are in our room with nowhere to go for dinner without a £14 taxi fare. It’s disgusting that we were not informed of the restaurant being closed given us a choice to make other arrangements. It has been closed because of staff issues for a couple of days when we left Monday it was still closed and a note on the desk informing guests. They have plenty of time to inform guests but choosing not to because they will lose money when guests change their arrangements, Arrival date 6th June 2024

It was what I expected, the beefeater was run down and not inviting for breakfast. The room and sheets were clean and a good hot shower available.

Usual Premier Inn offering. Friendly staff, good clean quiet room, there was even a USB port! Very good evening meal - better than expected which was a bonus. Very well placed for bus to/from the airport. Downside - it was uncomfortably warm with a big fat duvet and little ventilation. We’d be quite happy to stay again.

Being a regular business and leisure traveller in many Premier Inn hotels I am fully aware of what to expect from this brand. Almost all my experiences are fine but this recent stay was awful in respect to the restaurant. We stayed as a family fo three for a pre arranged weekend away as a family member had a birthday party in the area. On check in I was asked if I wanted to book breakfast (which I had paid for in advance) we then booked a slot for breakfast for the next day forus and our family in another room. On arrival the next morning at the restaurant the place was packed with only two visible staff. The young lady at the desk told us our request for six people to sit together had not been passed on by the hotel and that only three of us were booked in and that they were too busy to seat the others. When I raised the issue that we had pre booked the staff member seemed peeved I had challenged her and again I was told that the request was not passed over from the hotel. I checked with reception and they confirmed I had requested this (the hotel staff are amazing by the way)> Eventually we were sat down after 10 mins wait and then we proceeded to wait a further 30 mins until someone came to take our breakfast order. I have no idea why they cannot refit this restaurant to be a help yourself buffet style which would minimise these long waits to be served your breakfast. When they only have two staff serving a full restaurant it is inevitable they cannot cope. Its not the staff members fault its typical of these companies who want to minimise labour costs and maximise profit margins. When the food actually arrived several items were missing off the plate which I had to ask someone to get for me. We stayed for two nights and both nights after the family activities we went to the bar at 9:30pm and 10pm respectively only to be told they are closing the bar with no real explanation despite many people arriving to have a late refreshment before going to bed. I have to say the hotel was fab but the restaurant bar offering at this Premier Inn needs serious investment and more staff as the guys here seem deflated, defeated and uninterested. I would stress though that I expect they are the victim of coporate greed and mismanagment.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and very friendly, Food was plentiful and varied. Good staff to chat about the area and places to buy certain items, and called us a taxi when leaving. We would recommend to anyone. The hotel came as a recommendation and was in the area we needed to be. Thank you.
