Scandic Klara

Stockholm|1.79km from Adat Jisrael Synagogue
Stayed 3 nights, family vacation. I do NOT recommend this hotel to others! Noise from street at night (street cleaning, trash truck etc several times, each night) so we slept terribly every night. Extra bed for 3rd person was very hard/uncomfortable. During breakfasts, the staff was hustling and making lots of noise by setting up for lunch (which started as late as 1.5 hrs after breakfast was over!) and did not allow guest to sit where they wanted in breakfast room - not a nice experience at all. Questionable room cleaning: no spare cups, cleaner said cups in rooms were only hand washed in bathroom sinks by cleaners, and they did not seem clean. We had to hunt down towels and toilet paper, plus they had forgotten to supply bed and towels for third person in room upon arrival. Front desk staff generally not so service minded + not understanding/interested in being helpful - did not allow us to eat a sandwich in the lobby before departure ”because the hotel has a restaurant” - which did not open until 3 hrs later(!) Note 1: Short opening hrs for restaurant by lobby. Note 2: They do not control which person removes what luggage from luggage storage, so anyone could take what they want. Note 3: Fridge in (our) room was super tiny, with depth as narrow as a water bottle. Note 4: They might not pay attention: When booking, I sent a request + a question to the hotel; request was not taken into account and I received no answer to question. Location: Good area to stay in for family trip if want to include shopping, easy access to public transportation, walking distance to Gamla Stan and more. But would recommend other hotel in area, not this one. Overall: Not the hotel experience I expected from photos, info on hotel web site and prize. Will not return, and recommend the hotel to reevaluate some of its routines!

I stayed at this Hotel for a week in early August 2022, and I had a WONDERFUL experience. I came from the USA, and this was my first time in Sweden. I will start with the things I liked MOST about this hotel. Favorite Things: 1.Rooftop Bar- After hanging out in the city all day, we discovered this gem one night. The view is amazing, and you can order drinks as well as small dishes from the hotel restaurant. They play music, and there are hotel guests as well as locals that come here after work. The bartenders (Lenny and Marcus and some others) were ALL so amazing and helpful. They gave drink suggestions, advice on sites to visit, and were super friendly. They looked liked they loved their jobs, and every night we went up there, they welcomed us like we were old friends. There was a greeter/security/entrance hostess (Violet) who was exceptional. She would welcome everyone personally, and when some people got too loud and drunk, she would calm them down, or expertly escort them out of the bar. I saw her telling the bartenders to give water to some ladies who clearly had too much to drink, and helping people call taxis to get home. The staff at the bar was just so professional, I loved it!!! 2.Breakfast- The breakfast buffet here was sooo good. It's an added charge to the room cost if you choose this. You have to call the front desk a day ahead and put your name on the schedule for a certain time. However they had so many delicious options: meats, cheese, crepes, breads, pate, eggs, jams, fruit, cereals, yogurts, meatballs, bacon, sausages, coffee, teas, pickles, juices, etc. There was a great hostess (I think her name was Julia), she gave me the BEST directions on ow to navigate into Stockholm, what bus to take, where to get off. She actually took time off from work and drew me a map. Not to mention, one day my friend was sick and could not come to breakfast, and Julia gave me a tray to bring food to the room, and she put a cute note on the tray that said ”feel better”! 3. Staff- The staff made this hotel experience so good! If it wasn't for the staff, this would be just another forgettable hotel. The guys at the front desk were as helpful as they could be. We asked for advice on getting around, restaurant choices, clubs to go to, etc. Everyone was so helpful. Phillip the night manager, spent several minutes printing up and directing me how to take the ferries to get around, even though he was training a new night person, and still had his own work to do. Maricela (I think?) gave us so many good ideas on places to go, and even came up to our room when we had a problem. Natalie also gave us cuisine ideas, and told us we should go to Uppsala (which I did not regret). She was patient as we asked a million questions. 4. Room- was clean. And they had black out curtains for the 19 hours of sunlight that we had during our stay. Rooms are small, and furniture is not impressive and barely there. 5. The lights only work wh

Nice old hotel in the heart of Stockholm old city. Awesome! Morning breakfast included in our room rate. It is easy to walk to most of the attractions in the city from here. Clean and spacious suite. Mid-range price. Will stay here again.

Stockholm can be an expensive city and this can be an expensive property. We paid a little more than i would have liked but I thought it was fair for Stockholm. Staff were great. The property is nice and we received an upgrade (diamond). There is a lounge and breakfast (we missed both). The rooms are a little small but typical in Europe. The wifi was good. The A/C was a little ify. It was late September so it wasn't a big deal but we had to open the window to help cool off the room. If you take the airport train and change at Central there is a subway station about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The property is not super close to things (except construction - it's very close to that) but it's not too far and you can walk to most tourist things. Overall, it was a good spot. as a reference point, a taxi to the airport was 50€
