What a disgusting hotel. I arrived in a room that had severe mould damage and smell. LOOK at my PHOTOS below—thick dust under the bed. The pool was not warm, and the jacuzzi was STILL out of order. Very Run down hotel with staff that never apologised once when approached about the severe mould and water damage. My 6 month old and wife had to try find a place after arriving late to this terrible room that they clearly thought was ok for a 5 star guest house. Who in their right mind has the audacity to expect people to sleep in a room like this. Not normal behaviour

Majeka House doesn’t skimp on quality. Plush beds and fluffy pillows make for pleasant sleep in the veritable clouds, that’s for sure! Luxury also makes its way through Majeka’s decor and design, with stunning earth-toned tiling, heated shower rails, generously poured shower products in convenient and chic containers, and a decent coffee pod coffee machine to civilize your morning with a hot cup first thing! Family-friendly; with good accessibility considerations in rooms and common spaces, stunning surrounds, and one of the most diligent hospitality teams (from front-of-house to groundskeepers). It’s a petrol-blue furniture-dotted gem getting stronger in offerings, courteous and predictive service, and peace. Dinner at the in-house restaurant may veer on the side of hearty and familiar to local palates, but the breakfast and lunch offerings more than prove the kitchen has some unexpected delights to dig into (I definitely recommend the Poke Bowl!). For locals and globetrotters based abroad, this hotel is definitely the value-for-money find you rave about.

Majeka House gave us the warmest welcome upon arrival – much needed given we had arrived from Durban on the tail of the worst storm to hit Cape Town in years! The flight was bumpy, with an approach to Cape Town akin to a white-knuckle ride, and the drive in a hire car from the airport was tumultuous, with rain, high winds and uprooted trees to accompany us all the way to the sanctuary of Majeka House. From restaurant recommendations in Stellenbosch Old Town (a <10 minute uber away) to the friendly staff and amazing spa treatments, Majeka House is a stylish home-from-home hotel with amazing staff and beautiful touches throughout. Our garden room came with patio, table and chairs. The bedroom opened out onto a sublime shower and bathroom - a very intimate experience. Complimentary water is provided, as is tea and coffee, although our room was missing the coffee machine. Not much of an issue as room service is available and breakfast was served mere moments away. The breakfast was absolutely delicious - hot options, in addition to the most amazing continental buffet. We felt thoroughly spoilt. We also enjoyed the spa facilities - the husband concluded he had experienced the best Swedish massage EVER! My facial, massage and gel manicure were a heavenly escape and all very reasonably priced thanks to the excellent exchange rate. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special, including Costa, who predided over the bar in the evening. We whiled away a few evenings in the quiet bar with watching Champions League football! Thank you all. We will return!

It was ok overall, but ultimately not worth the money. My main gripe was really with how they handled a complaint of ours. During our stay the weather was hot which meant it was very uncomfortable sleeping at night without the air conditioning - on our final night the aircon started dripping water. We flagged this to reception but were told that the hotel was fully booked so our options were to try and sleep with a loud dripping noise or no aircon. Needles to say it was not a great night's sleep. I understand these things happen, but I don't see how a hotel can justify charging full price in a situation like this. We had already paid full in advance, but I felt a partial refund was warranted for the final night. I explained this, but could tell they didn't care. No sign of management willing to engage on the matter (just excuses as to why they weren't availableto speak to me) - ultimately it was clear they didn't care. At the end of the day it was relatively expensive to stay here. Staff are relatively polite, but the hotel is in need of modernising. There are a lot of hotels and guesthouses in the area, shop around and look for better value.

I booked Majeka House for my husbands birthday. We arrived and found approximately 30-40 mosquitoes in our room. We were then offered another room which smelt of strong moth balls. The next morning our breakfast was served cold to us while we sat next to two dead cockroaches on the floor. We asked staff to remove them, when we checked up if they had been removed the staff members told us that there were no cockroaches found, however we went to check and they had in fact been removed, so we were made to feel like liars. It's not often I leave a bad review but our whole experience was absolutely shocking. I have since emailed the hotel three times to ask for a refund for our stay, and have not had a single reply. Absolutely unacceptable when I am paying close on R4000 for a five start hotel, we had to leave early and cancel our spa reservation with them because we wanted to get out. Not good enough.

Small secluded lodge in a nice area of Stellenbosch. Creative an colorful interior, yet it has seen its best times. Especially the pool area would welcome a renewal. The room was nice. The bathroom flooring in the toilet and shower area does not meet sanitary expectations as the are wooden planks

We had a beautiful room with a private pool. It was very big and comfortable. The pool and spa area was lovely and the food was excellent. It is in a quiet part of town, easy drive to everything, but not walkable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.
