My husband and I traveled across the country to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a quick but memorable trip. We checked in at the front desk. I casually mentioned that it was our 10th anniversary. We had a club king room on the top floor. Having read some of the previous reviews, I was a bit apprehensive. Unlike some of the exaggerated hyperbole in those reviews, our room was first rate in every way. I agree with reviewers in that the walls are thin. The white noise machine did a good job of muddling any sounds from our neighbors. We celebrated our anniversary at the Cast and Plow bar. Great drinks and amazing burger, graciously served by Josh. When we returned to the room, there was a bottle of champagne on ice, along with a bowl of chocolate covered strawberries. Nathan from the front desk heard me mention our anniversary and set this up, leaving a lovely card wishing us a happy 10th anniversary. We spent the next day at the pool. Great crispy chicken sandwich at the Wave bar. Alas, I don’t recall the names of the staff there, but they were wonderful. That evening, we returned to the Cast and Plow bar and enjoyed martinis and appetizers, served by Carlos. He makes a great espresso martini! Kudos to the staff of The Ritz Carlton MDR. They made our quick holiday a complete delight.

GGuest UserIt was very beautiful! ! The view was also nice. And the interior was cute in Tiffany blue. However, the shower was broken so it was a little difficult to use.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is very close to Venice beach, about a five-minute walk. We were given a south-facing room with a balcony and a view of the sea. Venice beach is very lively. There are 5 stores within 100 meters of the shops. It is still a bit scary to go shopping at night.
王王The hotel is not far from the beach, there is no breakfast, there are slides for children playing downstairs, there is a small pier, but the room we lived did not have a bathtub, the children's room was dirty, the breakfast was ordered. The bath water was small. Hotel rooms have partial sea views.
HHONGJIEThe environment is very good, because several hotels resident on this day moved to here for three nights without rooms, the price is slightly expensive, but the hotel environment and room settings are really good, super warm and sweet feeling, Small promenade and open air area outside Big Love Hotel
GGuest UserHonestly. A lovely hotel but not worth the price
If you are going, just make sure u don't get room 1102. Even front desk staff agreed she hears complaints about it's size and location frequently
Second time staying here for over a month! Super happy with housekeeping, front desk, valet, and engineering. A few front desk employees who were super kind and helpful that stood out to me are Jessica, Richard, Araceli, and Ivah: Thanks front desk! All of housekeeping staff are amazingly kind and provided excellent service! I apologize to housekeeping for my continuous calls requesting items as I did not request cleaning much because I had my 2 dogs. Thanks housekeeping! Valet is also amazingly awesome! They all did fantastic as most days they were super busy and they still provided excellent service! Kevin, Glen, and a few others stood out because of how patient they were with me since I always driving in and out with our busy schedule. Lol they did not seem to be bothered at all and they were always kind and very helpful! Thanks valet! Engineering team is also helpful, Michael and Tony are so welcoming, professional and always had a smile! Aside from great hospitality, rooms with kitchens were nice and roomy. Wi-Fi always on point. Gym and pool on site is great! Brizo restaurant and bars are also awesome! Really no complaints at all! My daughter, I, and my 2 pups enjoyed our stay both times! I recommend to book a stay!
We spent 10 days in California and had 6 very different hotel experiences. This hotel was a crowed pleaser. The rooms are a great size, the balcony was nice, and the location offered so much to do in walking distance. We mentioned it was my daughter's birthday and they had a warm plate of birthday cookies in the room waiting for her. The pool overlooks the bay and is a perfect size. Mother's Bay is very family friendly and in walking distance to a great park and Cheesecake Factory. The night we stayed they also had a movie on a projector outside for families to watch. Every staff member we interacted with seem to like their jobs and always were smiling and kind to us. Our kids did not want to leave. Mornings were a tad loud and reminded you are in LA with sirens and trash trucks, but that's not something they can control.
I have stayed at this hotel four times and really enjoy it. The location is great. Walking distance from Venice Beach and close enough to the airport to be considered on a layover. The restaurant has good food and the marina setting is quite nice. It is a new hotel, so rooms are still in good shape. I had a great view with a balcony using an upgrade once, and that added some ambiance. Finally, the gym is not bad. That said, I am noticing that the price has increased quite a bit to now be as much or more than the near by Marriott and (crazy as it seems) only $50 per night different than the Ritz Carlton. I really can't imagine. If the price is down between $200-$300 per night, that is a good deal but otherwise shop around.
LLuke Andrew VI spent a few days in January (2020) as a guest here. It wasn't luxurious, but I have to say that the service was very good: very personable but efficient customer service. Everything was very clean & set up quite well. Also, the position was just right. It's not on the ocean, but it is in a well-travelled area - right on the border between Venice and Marina del Rey. All in all, I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a comfortable stay, but doesn't want to break the bank.
My boyfriend and I just stayed at Foghorn Harbor Inn in Marina Del Rey, and it was awesome! The staff gave such a warm welcome, and the room had this killer view of the marina – felt like pure luxury. They don't have a restaurant, pool, or gym, but who needs it? The service was great, especially from the desk guy who hooked us up with local tips that made our visit even better. What's even cooler is that their side door comes out straight to the beach! The place is in a great spot for exploring the marina, with cool walks and plenty of dining options nearby. Seems like the hotel got a facelift or new management, and it totally shows – in a good way. Foghorn is perfect if you and your significant other want a laid-back and comfy stay with direct beach access in this cool spot.
