Negative: The entire hotel smells of sulfur due to the thermal pools. If you are sensitive to smells do not come here! It is overwhelming and very strong. Stinks like rotten eggs. The food is extremely bland and lacking variety. The dinner menu is almost identical each night with a few pasta options, one fish option, and only one meat option. Food is flavorless. I’ve had much better Italian food at home. Breakfast was better, but overall I was disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. The hotel also has 3 other restaurants that you can pay for but we didn’t bother trying them since we didn’t care for the buffet food and thought we would be equally disappointed. They will only give you one beach towel for your entire stay, if you want a new one you have to pay $5. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach and once you get there you can’t sit in the first 2 rows of beach chairs unless you pay around $20 extra, (even if you’re a hotel guest!). The service in the restaurant is slow. Waiters are difficult to track down and slow to clear plates. In the morning, the birds would sit at the empty tables and eat off the plates with leftover food. The hotel also claims to have live music in the evenings but there was none. Positive: The hotel is newly renovated and looks very clean and modern. Rooms are spacious and have air conditioning. Beautiful views. Nice beach. Overall I would not recommend this hotel due to the horrible smell and the low quality food. I also didn’t appreciate the overall sense that they were trying to rip you off by making you pay extra for towels and beach chairs. Seems pointless when you are already paying so much to stay at a “5 star” hotel. I think you would have better luck elsewhere.
