No room service and when we asked to replace shower gel, we had to purchase it direct from reception for a £1! Even asking for more tea bags, we were made to feel awful for even asking! Ok if you want to to stay in a 1950’s B&B but times have changed!

We enjoyed our stay at The Belmont Hotel. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and our room was large and comfortable and overlooking the sea. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance and a bit further afield and the beach was five minutes walk from the hotel. We could not fault the breakfast; large selection of well presented cooked options plus cereals, toast etc.

A few of us friends booked the Belmont for a couple of days catch up. Brilliant hotel. So in touch with the residents. Everything catered for. The beds were soooo comfy and the breakfast delicious!! Linda and Des were so caring and thoughtful. Will most definitely recommend to friends and return next year!

This is not a Hotel really, it’s more a home from home, you are welcomed on arrival, shown around, have a table allocated for breakfast so no fuss in the mornings, you are shown your room, extremely comfortable and well furnished, no staff visit your room unless requested so no hurry to go out each day Breakfast is a delight, superbly cooked and served, the gorgeous bar, the useful Boots items for sale in the foyer in case you run have out, the whole place is a welcoming restful delight close to the beach lift and with a car park. We visited years ago, will be back, have already recommended to friends.

There were good and bad experiences points for this hotel. Good: The room was large, quiet and the bed was comfortable. Bad: The staff state they do not enter the room whilst you are staying. Unfortunately, this has resulted in very dusty, partially clean rooms. Good: The bathroom was a good size with a bath and overhead shower. Bad: The hotel has a limited supply of hot water. If you want a shower after other guests have used the hot water, you will only have lukewarm water in all of the taps. Good: Bad: The breakfast room was very cold, guests were returning to their rooms to get jumpers. Good: The cooked breakfast was tasty and cooked to order. The sausages and bacon were a good quality. Bad: There was no fresh fruit as an alternative. The poached eggs were over cooked and more like a hard boiled egg. Good: The owners were very friendly. They have a display of toiletries that you can purchase if you have forgotten anything. They also have an honesty box for snacks. Bad: The hotel is really a bed and breakfast. It is dated and not somewhere I would return.

TERRIBLE POOLl area so disappointing Algi spots over the pool broken tiles and faded peeling pain and weeds very neglected and disappointed we thought we would just lie on the loungers but they were full of flies and cobwebs nobody went near it The only other seating area was overlooking the car park Would never had booked it if I had seen the actual photos

A most enjoyable and comfortable stay with an excellent breakfast. Linda and Des were great hosts, always on hand to answer questions etc. Location was perfect, close to the old village, cliff top walk, cliff lift (just £1 return) and beach promenade.

This is a lovely, family run hotel. Our room was well-maintained and the breakfast choice extensive. We didntbuse it, but the pool looked inviting too. All in all one of the best hotels we have stayed in on the isle of wight (and we have stayed in a few)
