If you're from the UK looking for a minibreak that's stereotypically German in flavour, then this is the perfect location. Set in the beautiful town of Schmallenberg surrounded by wonderful countryside, this German hotel/restaurant is the ideal place to stay. The eating areas / bar have a wonderfully German charm, with all manner of traditional German dishes on offer. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. A real gem.

We now have visited this hotel 13 times in the past 6 years. That should tell you everything. From the very first time it has been a true gem, a paradise to stay. Having visited many hotels over the world , nowhere did we find this atmosphere, this service. Family-run for years you feel the love and dedication of all people involved to make your stay optimal to your personal preferences. Surrounded by the woods the hotel itself is located in a beautiful park with meticulously kept flowerbeds , and is a very well thought of combination of new and older architecture. Several terasses, an intimate wellness area, exclusive rooms with a view at the park, and a great breakfast and diner. But most of all it is the great service , the warm welcome that is expressed by the couple that owns the hotel and by the staff. It all may sound as to good to be true and for us it is, but apparently not only for us as we met several guests who also visit Jagdhaus Wiese several times a year with their children, their parents , friends or just alone .
