Horrible experience. The hotel gave our room away because they were overbooked and we were a “late check-in.” I called before check-in to let them know we’d be later than 3pm. I was told by the manager “well the issue is that we’re over-booked, so it’s first come, first serve.” We were reassured by the manager they booked us a room at their sister-hotel a few minutes away. No problem with that, we understand things happen, we’re flexible. We show up to the original hotel just to confirm with them that they booked our room at the sister-hotel. Front desk staff called, nobody had a reservation for us. At any location. I asked to speak with the manager since she was the one who told me she booked us another room. Front desk staff stated they didn’t have an “on-call” manager. I informed him we drove 6.5 hours and made this reservation WEEKS ago, and already paid. He shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t really know what else you can do. Call *******.” I called *******, 2 hours on the phone, and they were able to finally find us another hotel. We had to pay tolls and parking fees to reach the new hotel. ******* paid the difference in price for the hotel room, but not the additional fees we had to endure because Extended Stay handled the situation extremely unprofessional and were unwilling to help us any further than making 2 phone calls.
